Audi Malaysia launches A6 3.0 TFSI, priced at RM 590k

KUALA LUMPUR: Audi Malaysia has launched the latest-gen A6 in the market. However, we are a little short on details, as the automaker has revealed nothing much. What we do know is that the C8 Audi A6 is priced at RM 589,000 (on the road without insurance), a little more compared to the one it is replacing, i.e., RM484,900. In the Malaysian market, it will compete with the like of Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series.

The car was on display at the automakers Glemarie showroom, and it missed the numeric badge at the rear. However, the engine details were revealed later, which is a V6 TFSI petrol mill. The said powertrain offers 335 hp of maximum power along with a peak torque of 500 Nm. The power is sent to all the four wheels via 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission unit.

The engine is paired to Audi’s 48-volt mild hybrid tech that combines a rear-mounted lithium-ion battery with a belt-alternator. This whole setup helps the A6 to cover the 0 to 100 kmph stretch in 5.1 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph.

On the exterior, the car features a Singleframe grille, aggressive air intakes, 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 255/40 tyres. At the rear, the tail lamps are joined via chrome piece same as can be seen in A8 flagship.

The cabin reminds us of the A7 Sportback that has also been launched in Malaysia. The car gets brown leather upholstery, 12.3-inch virtual cockpit, head-up projector, and a 10.1-inch & 8.6-inch touchscreens at the centre console. The bigger display is tuned with MMI navigation plus system, while the smaller one comes with various convenience features like text input, climate control, and others. Taking care of entertainment needs is a Bang & Olufsen audio system.
