Finally, after months of wait, an ample amount of teasers, and spy shots the 2022 Civic has arrived. Now, in its 11th generation, the Honda C-segment sedan will first go on sale in the US market, followed by others. In its latest version, the sedan showcases changes in its design language, chassis, powertrain, technology, and safety.

2022 Honda Civic exterior
The 11th-gen Civic Honda opted for the Man-Maximum, Machine-Minimum (M/M) design approach that calls for enhanced ergonomics, usability, and perceived space.
The front fascia showcases a mature face and it now ditches the ‘Solid Wing Face’ full-width grille for a body-coloured notch that sits above the downtuned upper intake. The brand’s moniker sits at the centre of the grille that extends to the sleek headlamps with L-shaped DRL units. The A-pillar has been pushed back by 1.96-inches giving an elongated bonnet and attractive silhouette. The lower edge features a large intake flanked by C-shaped structures with integrated fog lamps.
The rear gives a more Accord-like appearance with its ducktail boot lid and Audi-like tail lamps with L-shaped lighting units as at the front.
2022 Honda Civic interior
Like the exterior, the Civic’s interior is revised to look as plush and premium as ever. The dashboard features honeycomb mesh trim that acts as a demarcation between the infotainment system and climate control unit. The sedan is fitted with several high-end features such as -
- 7- and/or 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Android Auto and Apple CarPlat support
- Bose premium sound system
- 12-speakers
- Qi-compatible wireless charging pad with USB & power outlets
- New steering wheel
- 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster
Also, part of the new Civic comfort kit is new-gen seat frames developed using Honda’s Body Stabilising Seat approach. The seats are covered in high-quality material and we also have a new design for the front seat.
2022 Honda Civic engine configuration
The US-spec Civic is available in four trim options - LX, Sport, EX, and Touring. The former two are powered by a naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre 4-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC petrol mill making 158 hp and 187 Nm of torque. The remaining two get a 1.5-litre VTEC four-cylinder turbo unit that is tuned to deliver 180 hp and 240 Nm of torque.
In both options, the power is sent to the wheels via a CVT unit. It is to be noted that CVT for the turbo mill gets enhanced torque converter performance.
2022 Honda Civic safety
The new Civic packs a rock-solid safety bag that assures full protection of the driver and passengers. It includes -
- 10 airbags
- Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Traffic Jam Assist
- Eight sonar sensors
- Low-Speed Braking Control
- Front and rear false-start prevention.
- New single-camera system
The 2022 Honda Civic will be built at the automaker’s Alliston facility located in Ontario, Canada. As for the 11th-gen Civic price, it will be announced later, but we expect a substantial increase.
