2025 Toyota Camry 2.5V launched in Malaysia at RM 221k

KUALA LUMPUR: Earlier this month, UMW Toyota launched the all-new ninth-gen Camry in a sole hybrid form, the 2.5 HEV, priced at RM 248,800. Now, joining the lineup is the non-hybrid Camry 2.5V, catering to the ones who are still skeptical about electrified mobility.

The 2025 Toyota Camry 2.5V price reads RM 221,800 (on the road without insurance), which makes it almost RM 27k cheaper than the hybrid version.

At the core of the latest Camry lies a 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated inline-four engine that kicks out a maximum power of 204 PS at 6,600 rpm and a peak torque of 246 Nm from 4,200 to 5,000 rpm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Camry Hybrid, on the other hand, delivers a combined system output of 231 PS. 

The 2025 Toyota Camry 2.5V completes the century sprint in 8.9 seconds and has a claimed fuel efficiency of 15.15 kmpl. In comparison, the Camry Hybrid is quicker with a 0-100 kmph sprint of  7.2 seconds, and more fuel efficient at 25 kmpl.

Built on the Toyota New Global Architecture, the new Camry 2.5V features a sophisticated and sporty exterior design as the hybrid model. The equipment kit is also identical with the following bits -

• LED fog lights (front and rear)
• LED combination tail lights

• 18-inch wheels wrapped with 235/45 profile tyres
• 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system
• Wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto connectivity
• 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
• Head-up display
• Wireless smartphone chagrin pad
• Dual-zone climate control
• JBL sound system with nine speakers 
• Eight-way powered front seats with memory system for the driver’s seat
• Black leather seat upholstery
• Electrochromic rear-view mirror
• Dashcam (front and rear)
• Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 ADAS pack

However, the non-hybrid model misses out on the panoramic sunroof, shark fin antenna, tri-zone climate system, and power reclining rear seats.

On the purchase of the new Camry 2.5V, UMW Toyota offers a five-year, unlimited mileage against manufacturing defects. Available colour choices include - Emotional Red 2, Previous Metal, Attitude Black Mica, Platinum White Pearl Mica, Cement Grey Metallic, and Dark Blue Mica.
