2023 Honda City facelift images leaked in India
KUALA LUMPUR: Honda is set to introduce the facelifted iteration of the fifth-generation City in India on March 2, 2023. But ahead of the official launch, leaked images of the compact sedan have surfaced online. According to the leaked shots, the new Honda City facelift benefits from minimal design changes inside and out.

Honda Cars India is likely to discontinue the diesel engine and continue to offer the sedan with the same 1.5-litre petrol engine and 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol hybrid system.On the exterior, the updated sedan features a revised grille with a tweaked pattern and more striking LED daytime running lights. The front bumper also received a slight revamp. The rear end of the upcoming City facelift, on the other hand, benefits from a new diffuser-like element on the rear bumper along with a revised position for the reflectors. Further adding to the cosmetic tweaks are new alloy wheels.
Honda Cars India is also likely to update the 2023 City colour palette with the addition of a new blue paint scheme.
The interior retains the same layout and dual-tone black and beige theme with slightly tweaked steering wheel controls; it now houses a volume wheel on the left button cluster. On the features front, the sedan is likely to get wireless charging, wireless Apple Carplay / Android Auto, and ventilated front seats.
The standard safety kit is likely to be the same with six airbags. hill-start assist, ISOFIX child-seat anchors, and tyre pressure monitoring system.
In terms of mechanical bits, the reports suggest that the automaker will not offer the diesel-powered sedan anymore and the same 1.5-litre petrol engine will be carried over. The said mill generates a maximum power of 121 PS and a peak torque of 145 Nm. Transmission choices are also likely to include the same six-speed MT and CVT.
The City Hybrid will also be on offer with the same 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol hybrid unit, which incorporates two electric motors. The combined output of the system is rated at 126 PS and 253 Nm.
No information as to when the Honda City facelift will hit the local shores is available at the moment.
