2022 Proton Saga: Engine
All five Proton Saga variants are powered by a 1332cc 4-cylinder in-line, 16V, DOHC, VVT engine generating maximum power of 95 PS at 5,750 rpm along with a peak torque of 120 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The drive is sent to the wheels either via a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
Conclusion: All trims get the same engine configuration, making it a not-so-good deciding factor.
2022 Proton Saga: Braking & Suspension
Helping the sedan stop is the ventilated disc at the front and the torsion beam at the rear. A smooth ride, on the other hand, is Saga’s pretty capable suspension setup that includes MacPherson Strut with a stabilizer beam at the front and a torsion beam at the rear.
Conclusion: All trims get the same braking & riding configuration, making it a not-so-good deciding factor.
2022 Proton Saga: Exterior Features
The base Standard MT, Standard Liet AT, and Standard AT models get halogen reflector headlights, power-adjustable ORVMs with manual fold, wing mirror turn signals, bee sting antenna, and remote trunk release. The only difference is the wheels while all get 14-inches, however, the former is in steel and the other in alloy.
The Premium AT comes equipped with halogen headlights, LED daytime running lights, electronic door mirrors with turn signal lamps, a trunk spoiler, and a remote trunk release.
Over and above the Premium AT specs list, the range-topping Premium S AT model gets electric ORVM with an auto fold along with front & side skirtings.
Conclusion: The sedan’s exterior specs kit mainly differs between the Standard and Premium trims. So, the customers can lay their hands on the model they think comes with a feature of choice.

The base Standard MT, Standard Liet AT, and Standard AT models come equipped with the following features on the inside. Part of the list is - a urethane steering wheel with tilt adjustment, LCD multi-info display, ECO drive assist, keyless entry via remote control, power windows, fabric upholstery, driver seat height adjuster, air-conditioning with N95 cabin filter, and a 12V power socket.
The Premium AT model packs a urethane steering wheel with audio & hands-free telephone switches & tilt adjustment, LCD multi-info display, ECO drive assist, keyless remote, power window, fabric upholstery, driver seat height adjuster, luggage lamp, air-conditioning with N95 cabin filter, and a 12V power socket.
The range-topping Saga model in addition to the Premium AT equipment list gets intelligent entry with the push start button and power windows with driver side auto down function. Also, instead of plain fabric, it gets a semi-leatherette with fabric seat material.
Conclusion: It is quite clear from above, that the Premium trims offer more features than the Standard ones. But again it all comes at an additional cost.

Only the range-topping Saga comes with a reminder before leaving the vehicle function.
