2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class CKD goes on sale in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: While launching the all-new fully-imported C-Class back in February, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia confirmed the arrival of its locally-assembled version for H2 2022. And as per the promise, here the local arm of the German auto giant introduces the all-new C-Class CKD model.

The all-new 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class CKD is on offer in two variants - C200 Avantgarde Line and the C300 AMG Line, priced at RM 287,888 and RM 327,888, respectively.The sedan is locally assembled at the Mercedes-Benz production facility in Pekan, Pahang and continues to be offered in two variants as earlier. The above-mentioned prices also include a four-year, unlimited mileage manufacturer’s warranty.

In terms of specifications, the locally-assembled C-Class is almost identical to the imported version with just a couple of additions. It now features a hand-free powered boot and a Pre-Safe anticipatory occupant protection system.
Rest of the kit remains unchanged from before. The base-spec C 200 features the Avantgarde exterior pack mated to 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, while the C 300 is decked up with the AMG Line body kit with a pair of 19-inch AMG multi-spoke wheels. The range-topping version also comes equipped with a distinctive “Mercedes-Benz pattern grille” housing the star design mesh alongside a panoramic sunroof, however, the LED High-Performance headlights coupled with an adaptive high-beam system and LED tail lights are standard across the range.
Inside, the locally-assembled sedan comes with a bucket load of features, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, 11.9-inch vertical infotainment unit paired with the MBUX operating system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto connectivity, "Hey Mercedes" voice assistant, Qi Wireless charging pad, leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, comfort seats, Thermatic Automatic climate control system, keyless entry and start, 64-colour ambient lighting and more.
The AMG Line adds Augmented-reality navigation, Sports seats, and a Nappa-leather-wrapped steering wheel to the list.
Both variants are powered by a mild-hybrid mill, but with a different combination.

As for safety, other than the new Pre-safe system, the kit remains unchanged with a Lane Tracking pack, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Brake Assist, Cruise Control, Active Parking Assist with Parktronic, Pedestrian protection, Tyre pressure monitoring system, and a reverse camera.
