The 2022 Cerato is offered in four variant options -

2022 Kia Cerato exterior

The new Cerato exterior styling is more impressive than ever. Part of the sedan's design kit are -

• Headlamps with dotted-line daytime running lights
• Revised 'tiger nose' grille
• Lower intake outfitted with a row of diagonal LED fog lamps (on GT-Line and GT)
• 15-inch steel wheels (for FE), 16-inch alloys (for LXS), 17-inch alloys (for GT-Line, & 18-inch wheels (for GT)
• Wheels wrapped in 205/55 and 225/45 tyres; the GT gets 225/40 rubbers
• LED rear lamp design (for GT-Line and GT)

The interior like the sedan's exterior has a sporty and strong vibe. The in-car equipment list includes -

• A 4.2-inch colour TFT LCD instrument cluster (for FE & LXS)
• An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit (for FE & LXS)
• Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity (for FE & LXS)
• Larger 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment unit with navigation (for GT-Line & GT)

2022 Kia Cerato engine

Kia is offering the Cerato sedan in two engine options, one powering the FE, LXS, and GT-Line variants and the other the top GT model.

The former group is powered by a naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre MPI inline-four petrol mill making a maximum power of 147 hp along with a peak torque of 179 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via an intelligent continuously variable transmission.

The range-topping GT model, on the other hand, is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol unit pumping 201 hp of power and 265 Nm of torque. The power is transmitted to the wheels either via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic or 6-speed manual transmission.

Sedan's suspension setup includes a multi-link setup for this more powerful GT variant and a torsion-beam rear axle arrangement for others.

The C-segment Cerato sedan comes equipped with several standard advanced driver assistance systems. Part of the kit is - safe exit warning, lane following assist, navigation-based smart cruise control, and highway driving assist.

Over and above the previous model, the new Cerato gets new assistance systems like -

• Forward collision avoidance assist
• Autonomous emergency braking
• Rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist

2022 Kia Cerato price

The new Kia Cerato price ranges from US$19,090 (RM 79,643) to US$23,490 (RM 98,000). Not to forget the additional US$1,000 (RM 4,172) for the range-topping GT MT model.
