2022 Jeep Wagoneer teased again

KUALA LUMPUR: It seems like the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer is nearing its launch, as the automaker has begun teasing the car on social media. Unlike the cryptic image shared by Jeep with the dictionary definition of the word ‘Grand’, this time, we see two separate images - one is of the interior, and the other is of a badge showing the last few letters of the car followed by an American flag.

Though the two teaser images don’t give much information about the upcoming Jeep, the ‘EER’ letters provide us with an idea of what the new SUV has in stock. Also, news, rumours, and spy shots collected over the years give us enough information to lean on.

The arrival of the Grand Wagoneer was confirmed half a decade ago with a target launch of 2018; obviously, it got delayed. Later, Jeep also confirmed that it would be a full-size SUV built at the same plant as the Ram 1500, suggesting it would be derived from the pickup.

Coming to the recently released teaser images, while the model badge with the American flag gives a retro vibe, the interior shot tells a different story. The cabin teaser looks modern with its showy start/stop button and infotainment system. We can see two knobs sticking out of the display, maybe to access the volume or something else. The infotainment system is not fully integrated into the console.

We are expecting Jeep to show more of the Grand Wagoneer in the coming weeks. As per the latest reports, the Jeep’s newest SUV is expected to feature a luxurious cabin wrapped in plush upholstery and loads of tech goodies.

• Digital rearview camera
• Display for front passenger only
• Optional rear entertainment system

The production of the Wagoneer models - regular and Grand will begin in the second quarter of 2021, according to FCA’s recent announcement.
