2022 Infiniti QX60 revealed with improved styling and more tech
KUALA LUMPUR: Nissan's luxury brand Infiniti showcased the next-gen QX60 Monograph (concept) last year in September and now here comes the redesigned 2022 Infiniti QX60 in production guise. Inside and out, the three-row crossover gets design and tech improvements that make it plusher and smarter over the outgoing generation. The Infiniti QX60 is one of the brand’s most successful models with sales of more than 400,000 units over its history.
"All of us at INFINITI are thrilled to now share the all-new QX60 with our clients, fans, and retail partners," said Jeff Pope, group vice president, INFINITI Americas. "This premium SUV exemplifies everything we stand for, from expressive design, interior luxury, and craftsmanship, as well as confidence-inspiring technology and driver assistance features that allow QX60 owners to conquer life in style."
On the exterior, the production version looks much like the concept with a boxier shape and the brand's signature curvy detailing. The front grille is inspired by origami and has a chrome frame while the headlights now look slimmer and boast kimono folds. Added to the exterior highlights are LED tail lights connected by a black bar, chrome diffuser accents, a black roof, and large 20-inch wheels.
The plush and hi-tech interior of the new Infiniti QX60 is fitted with "zero gravity" seats with heating and electric adjustment features. On the lower trims, the seating layout gets 7 seats, while on the top-spec Autograph, buyers will get captain's chairs in the second row, which reduces the seating capacity to six.
Other premium highlights offering a posh and hi-tech feel are:
- Genuine open-pore wood trimmings, semi-aniline leather upholstery, and soft-touch materials all around
- A 12.3-inch Interactive Display touchscreen
- A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
- 10.8-inch head-up display
- 17-speaker Bose Performance Series sound system
- Tri-zone climate control
- Wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto
- Wireless charging and Wi-Fi connectivity
- One-touch second-row seats slide for easy access to the third row
- ProPilot Assist with Navi-Link (combining lane centering, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure intervention)
Powering the new-gen Infiniti QX60 is a 3.5-litre V6 engine that generates a maximum power output of 295 horsepower and a peak torque of 366 Nm. The engine is mated to the all-new 9-speed automatic transmission and Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system.
Set to go on sale in North America this fall, the 2022 Infiniti QX60 price has not yet been disclosed by the automaker.
