It was only last week that Honda Malaysia launched the all-new 2022 Civic e:HEV hybrid in the local market. And as expected the excitement matched the response, the sedan received a grand welcome and is proving to be a profitable addition to the family.

With the inclusion of the hybrid variant, the Civic lineup has grown to four, thus giving customers a wide range of options to choose from. However, it is the latest addition, the e: HEV RS version that is making the maximum news and so, we’ll be discussing a segment of it in detail, i.e., safety and comfort. So, let’s get started

2022 Honda Civic e:HEV RS: Safety features

The all-new Civic hybrid is loaded with a bunch of safety features that actively watch over the driver and passengers. Part of the list is -

Parking Sensors System

The sedan packs eight parking sensors that are actively on the lookout for hidden obstacles and help the driver park smoothly.

Honda LaneWatch

The outer rear view mirror comes equipped with a camera that helps the driver see the vehicles in the blind spot via the in-car display. Thus ensuring a safe and secure lane change.

Seat belt reminder

This simple feature which reminds passengers to buckle in helps keep everyone safe.

Multi-angle rearview camera

The rearview camera offers three unique views using which the driver can reverse the car with precision.

Auto Brake Hold (ABH)

During heavy traffic, the ABH feature comes in handy as it allows the driver to keep the brakes engaged even with the foot, not on the pedal.

Hill Start Assist (HSA)

No more rollbacks when driving on an inclined surface, thanks to HSA.

G-Force Control (G-CON)

During a collision, the sedan’s G-CON tech absorbs and diffuses the impact away from the cabin.

Emergency Stop Signal

In case of sudden braking, the Emergency Stop Signal warns others via hazard lights and flashing tail lamps.

Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA)

The car with VSA tech showcases enhanced stability and control in the event of cornering.

ISOFIX I-size type

The world standard ISOFIX anchor point on the sedan helps ensure the child’s safety in the car.

Walk away auto lock

No need to worry about opening car doors anymore, as they walk away auto lock feature automatically locks the door after 30 seconds or after 2 meters of walking away.

In addition to the above safety features, the range-topping Civic e:HEV RS version comes tuned with the Honda SENSING suite of advanced driver-assistive technologies. There are nine features that make this setup increase the driver’s confidence and safety on the road.

Lane Departure Warning

This feature alerts the driver when the car drifts out of the lane without activating the indicator via vibrating the steering wheel.

Lane Keep Assist System

In case the sedan veers out of the lane, the system not only alerts the driver but also gently corrects the car (moving the steering) and brings it back to the center of the lane.

Road Departure Mitigation

This system corrects the steering and applies the brakes when it detects the car is leaving the road.

Forward Collision Warning

This system alerts the driver when it detects a risk of collision with the vehicle moving ahead.

Low Speed Follow

The low speed following helps stop and move the car automatically according to the flow of the traffic.

Collision Mitigation Braking System

The system will apply brakes on sensing an increased risk of collision.

Auto High Beam

When the system detects an oncoming vehicle in the opposite lane, it automatically switches from a high beam to a low beam.

Adaptive Cruise Control

It enables the sedan to move at a fixed speed and distance from the vehicle moving ahead.

Lead Car Departure Notification System

When the vehicle in front of you starts moving, this system will alert the driver and tell them to move on.

Enough about safety, it is time to discuss the superb comfortable features the Civic hybrid offers. The said list includes -

8-way driver power seat

The driver’s seat is no less than the throne when it comes to the hybrid version. As the driver’s seat can be adjusted in eight different directions.

Rear air-conditioning vents

Rear passengers can enjoy full comfort thanks to the rear vents. Also, they get two USB ports to charge their device and enjoy the journey fully.

Wireless charger

The new and futuristic cabin of the hybrid gets a wireless charger, so there is no more dangling the wires.

Multi-function steering wheel with control buttons

The driver can access all the information at his fingertips (from entertainment to data) via controls on the leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Electric parking brake

The Civic hybrid can be put into park mode with just one simple flick via Electric Parking Brake.

Smartphone connectivity

The Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay support help the car stay connected with the smartphone apps.

Interactive displays

The car features a 9-inch full HD touchscreen display, is ergonomically angled, and takes care of entertainment and other essential functions like navigation. Also, part of the kit is a 10.2-inch interactive TFT meter cluster that offers the driver a fully digital and intuitive interface.
