KUALA LUMPUR: Finally, after waiting for so long, the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class has made its global debut. The new version has taken a giant leap on several fronts, including comfort, tech, and safety features.

2021 S-Class Dimensions

• -Compared to the ongoing model, the new version has grown on all fronts, including the size. The car is now 34 mm lengthier, 22 mm wider, 12 mm higher
• Its wheelbase is up by 51 mm, which results into 24 mm more legroom for rear passengers
• Boot capacity has increased by 20-litre

2021 S-Class Exterior Changes

•  At the front, it gets LED headlights with 'Digital Light' system that employs guidelines and symbols on the road surface
• All chrome grille featuring three horizontal blades
• Revised front number with large air intakes
• Flush fitting door handles
•  Horizontal LED tail lamps running across the width of the car
• Twin exhaust tips with chrome finish
•  Wheel options ranging from 18 to 21-inch
• According to Mercedes, the 2021 S-Class is the most aerodynamic car in the world with a drag coefficient of 0.22cd

2021 S-Class Interior Changed

• One of the most significant changes in the new S-Class is the inclusion of the 2nd-gen MBUX infotainment system
• 12.8-inch tablet-style infotainment system and 12.3-inch 3D instrument cluster
• For passengers at the back, the car offers a total of three screens two mounted front seats back and one placed on the rear armrest
• Compared to the ongoing model, the new car features 27 fewer buttons and switches
• There is an emphasis on voice control; the new MBUX system can understand commands in 27 languages and can take commands from passengers sitting anywhere in the car

• It also comes with face, voice, & fingerprint driver authentication, allowing the vehicle to automatically adjust the cabin settings, digital payments, and gesture controls
• The new S-Class offer greater connectivity between the passengers, they can now share files via drag and drop function and can even transfer calls
• Also, on the equipment list is an active ambient lighting system with 263 LEDs, 31-speaker Burmester 4D surround-sound system, centre airbag, head-up display with augmented reality

2021 S-Class Powertrain Options

The new S-Class is offered with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol and diesel engine options in different power tune.

• In the S450, the petrol mill makes 367 hp and 500 Nm; in the S 500, the output reads 435 hp and 520 Nm. Assisting the powerplant is 48-volt 'EQ Boost' mild hybrid system that provides 22 hp and 250 Nm
• The 3.0-litre diesel in the S350d makes 286 hp and 600 Nm. In the S400d trim, it develops 330 hp and 700 Nm
• All S-Class models expect the S350 feature 4MATIC all-wheel-drive as standard
• A 9-speed automatic transmission is standard across all the variants
• In the future, a plug-in hybrid and AMG-tuned versions will indeed join the S-Class lineup

The all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class will be built at the automaker's new Factory 56 in Sindelfingen. It is the same plan where the all-electric EQS will come to life; in a sense, it is the full-electric sibling of the S-Class and will share the laters comfort and luxurious approach.
