2021 is one of the best years for Bentley

KUALA LUMPUR: Bentley's order bank is running at an all-time high, despite the pandemic, reveals automaker's boss, Adrian Hallmark. Thus making 2021, one of the best for the carmaker.

Compared to last year, i.e., 2020, Bentley's orders are up by 50 percent. Also, deliveries have hiked by 20 percent over the previous year. Back then despite the pandemic, the company handed over 11, 206 cars (2 percent more compared to 2019) which was its best in its 101 years history. Speaking of deliveries, the automaker registered a hike of 30 percent in 2020 that was considered its best since 2003.

Adrian Hallmark, speaking ahead of the Bentley Continental GT Speed launch, also revealed that Brexit had a near to zero impact on the company's performance. And therefore, the automaker is indulged in forward planning for all scenarios.

Furthermore, even COVID-19 had minimal impact on the company's work and staff. It is a wonder that no Bentley worker got infected and it was also the first UK-based car manufacturer to commence its production like. All this was possible due to the tight safety measurements put in place by Bentley.

Latest developments in Bentley range

Bentley recently on 24th March 2021 launched the all-new Continental GT Speed that like the previous models benefited from a powerful mill and several comprehensive chassis tweaks.
Powering the third-gen Continental GT Speed trim is a 6.0-litre twin-turbo engine that churns out a maximum power of 659 PS and a whooping torque of 900 Nm. On the performance front, the vehicle covers 0 to 100 kmph in 0.1 seconds quicker at 3.6 kmph. The top speed is up by 2 kmph, i.e., 335 kmph. The power is sent to the wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Several things, like rear-wheel steering, Bentley-first electronic limited-slip rear differential, new carbon-ceramic brake option, new 22-inch alloy wheels, and more.
