2021 Hyundai Elantra gets overriding joy with hybrid powertrain
KUALA LUMPUR: The South Korean manufacturer is all set to amaze its loyal clientele with new 2021 Elantra in a hybrid variant. Elantra is trying to make a big sensation in the compact-sedan segment along with revamped technology. With a strikingly new design, updated technology and a package of interesting features, the new Elantra is sure to astonish Hyundai fans. The prominent upside of the hybrid model is that the engine is capable of generating a combined fuel economy rating of more than 21.25 kmpl. With this, the newest offering from Hyundai is sure to give a tough competition to Honda Insight and Toyota Corolla.
The animal behind the powerful 2021 Elantra hybrid machinery is a 1.6-liter inline-four-cylinder engine which is combined with a 43-horsepower electric motor. The entire machinery is capable of igniting a system output of 139 hp. With further detailing on that, the Elantra Hybrid has a bulku195 lb-ft of torque which is sure to generate amazing on-road responses for the car. Front wheels of the car will receive power through a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission along with 1.3 KWh lithium-ion battery, placed under the seat.
Undoubtedly, with all the styling cues, the new Elantra looks appealing. The charming shape of the car along with angular side faces and modernized headlights and taillights will definitely make it a collectable model. With a longer and wider wheelbase, Elantra becomes one of the largest sedans in the compact sedan segment. You can also experience more legroom in the rear seat for a comfortable and convenient ride.
Though we have no user experience to share with the new Elantra, what we can make out from the pictures is that the newly redesigned cabin is a complete assortment of design, style and technology. There's an option for a two-screen display layout, that is influenced by Mercedes and it incorporates two huge 10.25-inch screens that contours to form a single piece of glass. Out of which one screen is the digital gauge cluster for the driver assist and other is the usual infotainment system.
Overall, the 2021 Hyundai Elantra hybrid will definitely be a likeable piece for those who want a completely new package but with a conventional base. Past years have witnessed a good sales figure for those Toyota and Honda hybrid offerings and hence we assume Hyundai to follow that league as well.
