2019 Proton Persona open for online flash booking at RM 9.99

KUALA LUMPUR: Proton has made the new Persona available for online flash bookings following its public debut at the Malaysia Autoshow 2019. At the recently concluded event, the bookings were open too. However, for those who missed the chance can now head to Proton’s website and can book the sedan at RM 9.99.

Prior to this, the Malaysian automaker, Proton had a flash bookings window that started on 1st March and continued for 11 days. Now after the auto show, the automaker is again accepting pre-bookings for the four-wheeler. However, this time around, Proton is running a special promo alongside taking the pre-orders. According to the promo posted on the carmaker’s website, buyers pre-booking the Persona will also get ‘Free 2 years road tax’, which comes with its own set of terms and conditions.

In case you are looking for a smaller car, say a hatchback, you can check out the all-new Proton Iriz. The hatch was on display at the Malaysia Autoshow alongside the new Persona and is also up for pre-booking at RM 9.99.

It was in January 2019, when Proton revealed its plan to update the Persona sedan, and in the following months, we got to see the car tested in images by the automaker. Though the price tag of the new Persona is still under covers, we are expecting a hike over the ongoing model. This is due to the improved set of features and specifications the new Persona is adorned with.

Concentrating our attention on the improvements, the new Persona not only looks out but also feels better. The front profile of the car is highlighted with a compact grille that continues till the corner of the sleek headlights. Further, enhancing the car’s appeal are LED daytime running lamps, shark fin antenna, new rim design, and a new rear bumper. Also, all the variants of the 2019 Persona received 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating.

The car will be available in four variants depending upon the transmission unit. Included in the list are - Standard MT, Standard CVT, Executive CVT, and Premium CVT. All the trims are powered by the same 1.6-litre 4-cylinder in-line 16-valve DOHC, VVT mill that churns out a maximum power of 109 PS at 5,750 rpm along with a peak torque of 150 Nm at 4,000 rpm.
