2019 Proton Persona officially unveiled in images

KUALA LUMPUR: Proton has released the first official images of its upcoming B-segment sedan, the 2019 Proton Persona. The facelifted Persona is all set to make its appearance alongside upgraded Iriz, which had been introduced earlier in February.

The images reveal extensive exterior upgrades, including an elegant aesthetic appeal with fine updates that make it appear as a stand-out version from its predecessor. The 'ethereal bow' grille garnish can be seen that made its debut on the X70 SUV. Also, the Infinite Weave pattern is used on the grille. The day-time running lights are placed on the bumper.

Over to the rear, Proton spells its moniker using caps on the trunk cover instead of providing a badge. A fancy lower bumper and a thinner spoiler complete the rear look. A shark-fin antenna can also be seen on the roof positioned at the centre. At the bottom, there are redesigned 15-inch wheels.

Stepping into the Persona sedan, Proton retains the dual-tone interior while giving new accents to some of the elements. The seat covers flaunt a funky design while the gear shifter adopts a more trendy finish. The rear-view mirrors, as per the images, appear to be frameless. Other key features include renovated analogue gauges and multi-info display set within the instrument binnacle. Proton has developed the touch-screen infotainment setup in collaboration with the Chinese company, eCarX.

Apart from the physical changes, it also offers an array of connectivity functions, of which, the voice command support is worthy of mention.
