2016 Hyundai Elantra receives an Update
Kuala Lumpur: Ahead of its Australian premiere in 2016, Hyundai recently released the official teaser image of next-generation Elantra sedan. Going by the pictures, this sedan is designed with a bold hexagonal grille, slim headlights and reworked wheel arches. The new look would also be defined by its sleek and bold body lines. According to the Korean automaker, the design of the new Hyundai Elantra would place this sedan in 'a class of its own'.
2016 Hyundai Elantra is all set for an Australian launch next year, where it will be accompanying just-updated Hyundai i30. The President and Chief design officer of Hyundai Motor Company, Peter Schreyer said- “The all new Elantra captures the car's unique design characteristics that really place this model in a class of its own”. He further added- “The subtle and innovative appearance enhancements reflect Hyundai's vision for design. Furthermore, this car indicates a move from traditional to modern styling by communicating the new model's comfort, fashion and sporty feel”
All-new Elantra is likely to be powered by a 1.6-litre T-GDI engine which would be capable of generating a maximum power of 175 hp. Further, it would be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, depending on different markets. Like all the Hyundai Australia vehicles, it would get local-specific suspension tuning. Ahead of its key rivals, it is all set to challenge same segment sedans/hatchbacks like Toyota Corolla, Mazda 3, Holden Cruze, Kia Cerato and Ford Focus.
