Ora Good Cat: Safety features explained

It was only late in November 2022 that Great Wall Motors (GWM) launched its all-new electric vehicle, the Ora Good Cat in Malaysia. Since its launch, the Chinese EV has grabbed a lot of attention and bookings, all thanks to its affordable price tag and reasonably loaded feature kit, including a well-versed safety profile.

The Malaysian-spec Ora Good Cat is available in two trim levels namely, the 400 Pro and 500 Ultra. The below-mentioned table gives the EV’s price information -

Each purchase is accompanied by a five-year, 150,000 km warranty, and an eight-year, 180,000 km warranty for the drive battery. Also part of the package is a complimentary portable charger and home charger, and five slots of maintenance service (at 10,000 km intervals) with a labour free of charge.

So, without further ado, get started and discuss Ora Good Cat’s safety bag.

Intelligent lighting unit

The EV gets unique cat-eye-shaped headlamps with LED units, auto on-off function, auto high-low beam, follow me home system and DRL. All of which offer exceptional driving visibility. At the rear, is the full-width LED strip offering brighter visibility and an elegant vibe.

Auto Emergency Braking + Intersection

For the safety of the driver and those on the road, the crossroads & pedestrian (forward & rearward vehicle) detection sensors work very well. The system includes audible warnings and automatic brakes.

Wisdom Dodge System

 

Ora Good Cat comes with a turn with a wisdom dodge system that detects and avoids approaching large vehicles. It also helps the driver keep a distance from the approaching large vehicles and in the event of overtaking allows the car to automatically return to the original lane.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Intelligent Cornering

The system allows the car’s speed to adjust automatically and makes it constant when there is a vehicle in front. Also, the system's unique functions help reduce the speed while cornering to prevent accidents and make the drive super safe.

Cornering Brake Control

While manoeuvring a curve, the cornering brake control helps the driver make consent turns by controlling the speed. Once the car passes the curve, the system will decelerate to a suitable speed and get back to a normal pace.

Integration Intelligent Parking

It is super easy to park the Ora Good Cat with the automatic parking assistance offered in three styles. Together they help the driver detect obstacles and signs, control the steering wheel, and calculate parking spaces.

360-degree Surrounding Camera

The EV is fitted with not one but four high-resolution cameras all around, each facilitating the driver with a 360-degree visual of the vehicle. All cameras automatically activate when the car is put into reverse mode.

Six airbags

The EV benefits from six airbags; one each for the driver and front passenger with an airbag switch, two side airbags, and two curtain airbags. Each of these will deploy automatically in an event of a collision, thus keeping the driver and passengers safe.
