Exploring the 2025 MINI Countryman S CKD: Checking out its standout features

Last year, sometime in September, BMW Group Malaysia surprised us all by introducing the U25 MINI Countryman S All4. Priced at RM 348,888 (on-the-road without insurance), this semi-hybrid model was a full RM 105,000 pricer than the Cooper S Countryman (in JCW trim).

However, the automaker surprised us again earlier this year in January by introducing the CKD locally-assembled model of the Countryman S All4. Compared to the fully-imported version, the CKD model is almost RM 90k cheaper. This means the car now retails for RM 259,000, matching with its electric sibling, the Countryman SE. This similarity does call for a full-length comparison between the models, which we’ll surely be doing soon, until then keep calm with the fact that the two cars look almost identical, so the design front is sorted.

As for today, our focus is on exploring the standout features of the 2025 Countryman S CKD and while doing so, you’ll get to see how amazing a car it is. So, without further ado, let’s get started, but first some key information -

• The Mini Countryman S CKD is priced at RM 258,888 and with 5-year Easy Drive Financing with 75% MoF on RRP finance it can be your’s for RM 2,338 per month.
• This particular body type can seat 4 adults comfortably and its boot space ranges from 505 to 1530 litre, depending on the seat configuration.
• Unlike the SE’s dual e-motor setup, the Countryman S All4 gets a 2.0-litre B48 turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine. Also, it misses out on the 48-volt mild hybrid system present in the CBU model
• Its power output ranges from 204 to 317 hp.
• The car showcases a top speed range of 228-250 kmph and accelerates 0-100 kmph within 7.4 to 5.4 seconds.
• The car’s mileage is rated at 14.71 kmpl
• Along with the impressive All4 all-wheel drive system (which we have discussed in detail), it gets a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission system.
• It rides on 20-inch Windmill Spoke two-tone alloy wheels that look super impressive both in motion and stationary.

Bottom line

The all-new MINI Countryman is a bit larger than before, which of course defies the company’s core ethos of being cute and small. However, this new figure helps the car stay relevant amongst its competitors in the premium crossover space.
