Malaysian car buyers have been showering much love on the newly launched Proton S70. A total of 3,000 customers have booked the sedan so far, with the weekly booking number now reaching 900 units. All variants are powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder MPI engine that is tuned to deliver 150 PS of maximum power and 226 Nm of peak torque. Sending power to the front wheels is a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Airbags

The sedan is packed with six airbags strategically placed throughout the cabin. These include front airbags for the driver and front passenger, side airbags to protect occupants in the event of a side collision, and curtain airbags that offer additional protection to all passengers. 

Autonomous Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Warning

These systems enhance safety by detecting potential frontal collisions. The Forward Collision Warning provides alerts, while the Autonomous Emergency braking takes immediate action by automatically applying brakes to mitigate or prevent a collision. 

Rear Collision Warning 

This advanced driver assistance system is designed to enhance awareness and response in the event of a potential collision from the rear. With the help of advanced sensors and monitoring technology, the Rear Collision Warning system provides timely alerts to the driver, notifying them of approaching vehicles or obstacles from behind. It also activates the hazard lamps to warn the rear vehicle.

Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-and-go

This system helps in maintaining a safe distance with the vehicle in front regardless of speed changes. The stop-and-go functionality adds an extra layer of convenience, especially in congested traffic conditions, making the driving experience smoother and more enjoyable.

Intelligent Cruise Control 

The Intelligent Cruise Control not only maintains a safe distance from the vehicle in front but also assists in keeping the vehicle centred within the lane, which is quite helpful during highway cruising. 

Lane Departure Warning, Lane Departure Prevention, and Lane Centering Assist

The Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver upon detecting an unintentional lane departure. If the driver does not respond to that alert, the Lane Departure Prevention comes into action to prevent unintended lane drift. The Lane Centering Assist assists in keeping the car centred within the lane for enhanced stability during driving.

Traffic Sign Information

With the help of advanced camera technology, the Traffic Sign Information system interprets road signs such as speed limits, stop signs, and other important information, and displays it in the metre combination. It ensures that drivers stay informed about road conditions and adhere to posted regulations.

Lane Change Assist

This proactive system assists the driver during lane changes, It monitors blind spots and provides alerts if there is a vehicle in the adjacent lane and thus contributes to safer manoeuvring.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert

At the time of reversing out from a parking space, this system comes into play. It acts as an extra set of eyes and detects approaching traffic from the side with the help of sensors and alerts the driver.

Intelligent High Beam Control

This feature automatically adjusts the car's headlights according to the surrounding traffic. It optimises visibility at night by switching between low and high beams and provides maximum illumination without causing glare to other drivers.

Tyre Pressure Monitoring System

The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System keeps drivers informed about the condition of the car's tyres. It continuously keeps a check on tyre pressure and alerts the driver if any tyre is under-inflated, which not only provides optimal safety but also enhances fuel efficiency and extends the life of the tyres.
