Zontes ZT310X1

The Zontes ZT310X1 has got a very unique and cutting-edge looking design, which makes it look very sharp and gives it a stance of a proper big bike. The majority of the credit of the bike’s excellent visual appeal goes to its aggressively styled bodywork at the front.

At the front, the Zontes ZT310X1 has got a sporty-looking front fascia, which comprises a rakish fairing that ends with an LED projector at the bottom. This fairing comes integrated with two stripes of LED daytime running lamps on the upper corner edges of the projector headlamp and one additional triangular LED lamp above the headlamp. The presence of a transparent windscreen at the top of the fairing is a welcoming addition to make it effective to restrict windblasts at higher speeds.

Moving to the sides, the Zontes ZT310X1 retains the nice impression generated by its frontal fascia. The front fairing is extended well on the sides with a heavy and busy-looking zig-zag-themed bodywork, which flows down to the base of the engine and covers it partially. This fairing also integrates the sporty-looking engine cowl at the bottom, and in the midway, it also accommodates slim LED turn indicators.

Compared to the heavy bodywork at the front, the rear section of the Zontes ZT310X1 looks rather minimalist, with a slim tailpiece moving upwards which does not get a proper fender attached to it at the back. Below these grab rails, you can also find the compact LED tail lamp. Above the slim tailpiece, the Zontes ZT310X1 comes with a single and long stepped-themed seat, behind which there are functional split grab rails placed. The absence of a proper rear fender and the single-sided swing-arm accentuates the visual appeal of the motorcycle even more. The rear tyre comes with a small hugger over it, on which the turn indicators and license plate are mounted.

The Zontes ZT310X1 shares its five-spoke alloy wheels and full-TFT instrument console with the ZT310T, with the latter displaying the information of speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip meters, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, gear indicators, and other necessary information in a funky way. The front forks, handlebar, front brake, clutch levers, and mirror stalks are finished in a contrasting shade of bronze.

Based on an iron-pipe frame from the ZT310T, the Zontes ZT310X1 gets a suspension combination of upside-down hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear, both of which are fully adjustable. Riding on 17-inch wheels, the Zontes ZT310X1 is fitted with a 110/70 ZR17 tyre at the front and a 160/60 ZR17 tyre at the rear. For halting duties, the Zontes ZT310X1 gets a 300mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear.

The Zontes ZT310X1 shares its four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 312cc engine with the other 310 series of motorcycles in Zontes’ stable. The engine here is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox and pumps out a maximum power output of 35 PS and a maximum torque output of 30 Nm. The engine impresses with its power delivery, but the refinement levels leave a lot to be desired.

The Zontes ZT310X1 is equipped with the bare essentials required for this segment of 200-300cc motorcycles, in the form of dual-channel ABS and a slip and assist clutch.

The Zontes ZT310X1’s main strength is its big bike-like exotic design, which looks much more premium for the segment to which it belongs. It surely multiplies the road presence of the motorcycle, even at the standstill. While the engine and other mechanical components of the Zontes ZT310X1 look fine on paper, they are not as impressive as its direct Japanese rivals in the real world.
