Yamaha 135LC Fi

For an affordable moped, the Yamaha 135 LC FI has a striking and edgy design that can put even some of the more powerful 150-200cc naked roadsters to shame. There is a sense of aggression in the overall persona of the Yamaha 135 LC FI which makes it look very youthful and desirable.

At the front, the Yamaha 135 LC FI has an aggressive-looking handlebar cowl, which has a V-shaped headlamp unit, which is a full-LED setup and also comes with daytime running LEDs. Just below the handlebar cowl, you get a compact front fairing, which looks sleek with its slanted design, edgy lines and slim clear lens turn indicators assisted with LED positioning lamps integrated on its sides.

The edginess in the Yamaha 135 LC FI can also be seen in the large front fender and Y-shaped side body panels flowing downwards, the latter of which also come with air vents integrated within them. These side panels neatly integrate with the spine running in the middle, which flows back to the rear profile, thus forming a majority of the part of the side profile. The side panels flow down towards the engine, which is finished in an all-black theme, along with the six-spoke alloy wheels and the long and uprising exhaust pipe.

The slim side body panels, which are part of the extending central spine flowing rearwards, end up at an angular tailpiece, which neatly accommodates a vertical LED tail lamp. While a blacked-out pillion grab rail sits above the tail lamp, the rear fender attached to the rear panels below the tail lamp comes fitted with clear lens turn indicators on the upper corners of it.

The Yamaha 135 LC FI is bestowed with a compact fully-digital instrument console, which despite its small size displays several essential information like speed, engine RPM, gear engaged, odometer, trip meters and fuel level. This compact LCD panel sits within a gloss black housing, above which you get an array of warning lamps. For an affordable moped, the fit and finish levels of the Yamaha 135 LC FI are very impressive.

The Yamaha 135 LC FI, just like all the other products under Yamaha’s umbrella, is one fine handling machine with well-sorted chassis. The moped comes with a suspension combination of telescopic hydraulic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear, with a backbone frame under its skin. Riding on 17-inch wheels with 70/90-17 front tyre and 80/90-17 rear tyre, the Yamaha 135 LC FI is equipped with disc brakes at both ends, making it one of the only few moped in its category to come with disc brake for both front and rear wheels.

Powering the Yamaha 135 LC FI is a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 135cc engine, which is coupled to a 4-speed manual gearbox. With a maximum power output of 12.6 PS and a peak torque output of 12.2 Nm, the engine of the Yamaha 135 LC FI is one of the most powerful and refined ones in its category.

While the Yamaha 135 LC FI misses out on prominent safety aids like ABS or traction control, it serves the basic security feature of a lockable ignition keyhole, which helps in the prevention of easy thefts.

With a sporty demeanour in its styling, performance and riding dynamics, the Yamaha 135 LC FI is one very capable moped that can even give some of the 150-200cc motorcycles a run for their money with its overall appeal. This moped should be on the consideration list of those youngsters, who do not want a motorcycle, but motorcycle-like riding experience in a two-wheeler.
