Treeletrik T-70

For an affordable mobility solution, the Treeletrik T-70 has a decent design which should attract a younger set of buyers, thanks to its sharp and fancy-looking body panels. There are a few elements in the Treeletrik T-70, which might look fancy and premium at first, but a closer inspection reveals the cheap build quality of the panels of this scooter.

The best angle from which one can look at the Treeletrik T-70 is the front, as this electric scooter has a bold-looking front fascia, comprising elements like a dual headlamp setup right in the middle of the front apron. These dual headlamps cover much of the front apron design and flow towards the bottom of the apron in a pointy fashion. These headlamps also get small air vents in their lower corners, while the tyre comes with a simple-looking curved fender above it. The handlebar cowl comes with clear lens turn indicators integrated into its sides.

The side profile of the Treeletrik T-70 looks very generic, as it comes with decent-looking dual-tone body panels which have sharp curves and flow towards the rear section in a pointy form. The floorboard might feel compact for tall riders, but the seat of this scooter is long and accommodating enough for two full-sized adults. There is a large single-piece curved pillion grab rail at the back, which makes the rear of the scooter look bulky.

At the back, below the large pillion grab rail, the Treeletrik T-70 comes with a wide-looking tail lamp cluster, which comes integrated with clear lens turn indicators on its sides and a long rear fender attached to the bottom of the tail section. The instrument console of the Treeletrik T-70 too isn’t too fancy or modern, with it getting a basic fully-digital LCD screen displaying data like speedometer, odometer, trip meters and remaining range.

While the Treeletrik T-70 has a decent design overall, it lacks the finesse and build quality of a 110-125cc scooter from an established manufacturer. There are inconsistent panel gaps, which can make one believe that it is a shoddily made scooter.

The basic-looking Treeletrik T-70 comes armed with a suspension combination of hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a single-sided hydraulic coil spring at the rear. The scooter rides on 90/90-10 tubeless tyres at both ends, while a single disc brake takes care of halting duties on both the front and rear wheels. With a claimed payload capacity of 150 kg, the Treeletrik T-70 measures 1750mm long, 690mm wide and 1150mm tall.

The Treeletrik T-70 sources its power from a hub-mounted brushless 1.5 kW motor, which is in a combination with a non-removable 72V/45Ah lithium-0ion battery, which weighs 25 kg. The scooter is provided with a 220V charger, which charges the battery for 4-6 hours. While the Treeletrik T-70 can touch a top speed of 65 kmph, it can deliver a maximum range of 100 km on a single charge.

The Treeletrik T-70 has been launched in a cost-conscious segment, in which buyers generally do not prefer paying for fancy and expensive features. To keep the costs in check, the Treeletrik T-70 lacks prominent and modern-day safety features and only gets a rear brake lock.

While the Treeletrik T-70 is a decent-looking scooter with promising performance and range for its low price, the scooter feels below average in all aspects, such as build quality, fit and finish levels, ride quality and performance on gradients. It is one decent solution for basic commutes, but don’t expect much more from it.
