Adventure tourers are never meant to be pretty-looking motorcycles – they keep function over form, anyways. The same goes for the Harley Davidson Pan America 1250 – while it is not too great in its looks with its polarizing front-end design, it surely has got tremendous road presence, thanks to the large dimensions and tall stance.

At the front, the Harley Davidson Pan America 1250 has a huge-looking fascia which is divided into two parts. While the lower part consists of a wide-looking all-LED headlamp encased within a slanted housing, the upper part has a slanted black-coloured panel on which the fully-adjustable, transparent windscreen is mounted. The lower corners of the front fairing come attached with rounded LED turn indicators, which are placed above the side cowls of the radiator.

Move towards the side, and the muscular appeal of the Harley Davidson Pan America 1250 looks more evident. The burly-looking fuel tank, the massive V-twin engine finished in a dual-tone black and grey theme, the large side covers of the radiator and the huge and upswept single exhaust pipe on the side make the Harley Davidson Pan America 1250 look brawny from the side. An additional black slanted panel above the fuel tank adds more substance to the motorcycle.

Towards the rear, the Harley Davidson Pan America 1250 comes with an exposed tubular trellis frame on the sides below the split seat arrangement of the motorcycle. Compared to the front look of the Harley Davidson Pan America 1250, the rear looks very subtle and minimalist, with just a high-placed LED tail lamp above the rear fender. The short rear fender of the motorcycle comes attached with rounded LED turn indicators, while the split grab rails on the sides of the pillion seat come mounted with pannier holders.

Behind the wide-looking handlebar adorned with premium switchgear, the Harley Davidson Pan America 1250 comes equipped with a modern-looking 6.8-inch full-TFT instrument console. It should be noted that the Pan America 1250 was the first Harley Davidson motorcycle to feature a full-TFT display unit, which has an array of information to show.

The Pan American 1250 is the first Harley Davidson motorcycle that can dare to venture off-road terrains with its hardcore hardware under its skin. The rugged frame of the motorcycle is accompanied by the long-travel suspension combination of 47mm inverted hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and linkage-mounted mono-shock, both of which came with compression, rebound, and spring preload adjustability. The Harley Davidson Pan America 1250 rides on 120/70 R19 and 170/60 R17 rear tyres and features dual discs at the front and a single disc at the rear.

The Harley Davidson Pan America 1250 debuted the manufacturer’s new-generation four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 1252cc V-twin engine, which has been dubbed as Revolution Max 1250. This is one of the most advanced engines ever made by Harley Davidson and produces a maximum power output of 152 PS and a peak torque output of 127 Nm. This humongous engine is paired with a slick 6-speed gearbox.

The Pan America 1250 is easily the most feature-packed Harley Davidson motorcycle when it comes to riding aids. Besides the dual-channel ABS, the Pan America 1250 also comes equipped with the drag-torque slip control system, traction control, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, riding modes, and internet and Bluetooth connectivity.

With the stance, road presence, and riding dynamics of a traditional adventure tourer, the Harley Davidson Pan America 1250 break several norms associated with Harley Davidson, which was known as only a maker of old-school cruisers.
