Daiichi Cfmoto 650 TR

Inspired from a full-sized modern tourer, the design and stance of the CF Moto 650TR look like how a proper big bike should, in the very first place. Thanks to its large dimensions and big-sized body panels, the CF Moto 650TR looks giant for its category, which gives it a solid road presence. However, the motorcycle has remained unchanged for a very long time, which makes it looks slightly old.

At the front, the CF Moto 650TR gets a dual headlamp setup with positioning lamps placed in their lower parts. These headlamps cover a huge part of the fairing at the front. The upper edges of the fairing do get extended panels on the sides in the form of wings, which come integrated with LED turn indicators in them. At the top of the fairing at the front, the CF Moto 650TR gets a big transparent windscreen, which proves to be a functional thing for riding at higher speeds.

The CF Moto 650TR gets large body panels on the side, with the side portions of the front fairing covering the black-themed engine comprehensively. The lower part of the side fairing panels accommodates the engine cowl, which gets air fins at its front part to keep the engine cool while it is ridden. The other side body panels below the seat look almost flat, accompanied by silver-themed exposed frame extensions. The motorcycle gets five-spoke black alloy wheels and a stubby exhaust pipe.

The touring essence of the CF Moto 650TR is carried out towards the rear as well, with the motorcycle getting two large-sized panniers on either side of the pillion seat. At the back, the CF Moto 650TR gets a proper luggage rack mounted on the rear side body panels. There is an LED tail lamp with LED turn indicators attached to the upper corners.

The CF Moto 650TR gets a wide full-LCD instrument console, which might not be as modern looking as the full-TFT unit of the 650GT, but packs in all the necessary information on board. The unit comes with a speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, gear indicator, clock, odometer, and trip meters.

The CF Moto 650TR gets a unique suspension setup for its category of 650cc motorcycles. While the motorcycle gets retractable-type 41mm conventional hydraulic telescopic forks from Kayaba at the front, there is a cantilever-type swing-arm with mono-shock with adjustable spring preload at the rear. Going by its profile, the overall ride quality of the CF Moto 650TR feels comfortable and is a proper mile muncher for long distances. The CF Moto 650TR gets a braking setup of dual 300mm discs at the front and a single 220mm disc at the rear. Riding on 17-inch alloy wheels, the CF Moto 650TR gets a 120/70 R17 tyre at the front and a 160/60 R17 tyre at the rear.

The CF Moto 650TR is powered by a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin, 649cc engine, which it shares with the other 650cc motorcycles from CF Moto. Coupled with a 6-speed gearbox, the engine produces a maximum power output of 60.35 bhp at 9,000 rpm, while the peak torque output is rated at 56 Nm at 7,000 rpm.

For its segment, the CF Moto 650TR lacks several safety features and even lacks a proper dual-channel ABS. This might put off a lot of potential buyers, as the ABS is considered to be a must-to-have feature in modern-day bikes.

If you can live with the dated appeal of the CF Moto 650TR, it makes up for a perfect middleweight tourer. The decently powerful parallel-twin engine and comfortable ergonomics and ride quality give you the feel of riding a proper modern tourer at a much affordable price point.
