The overall cabin layout of the Volvo V60 Recharge is exactly similar to what is offered in other ICE vehicles from Volvo. The cabin now focuses on sustainability with a vegan wool blend leatherette upholstery, which has a dual-tone black and grey theme, while the dashboard has an all-black theme, with a wide U-shaped layer spread across its width, finished in a theme of contrast silver.

The three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, which is electrically adjustable for rake and reach, and the full-TFT 12-inch instrument console have been shared with the other Volvo vehicles on sale in Thailand. Another aspect which is also found in other Volvo SUVs and sedans is the large portrait-styled 9-inch infotainment system, which is slightly tilted towards the driver and houses an Android-based software and Bowers & Wilkins audio system, which has 15 speakers on offer.

The lower centre console of the Volvo V60 Recharge interior has a gloss black theme and a crystal-like finish for the transmission lever. The cabin is further equipped with range-topping features like a panoramic sunroof, head-up display, wireless charger, air purifier with AQI display, three-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, ventilated and powered front seats with massage function and more.

The Volvo V60 Recharge is a typical Volvo offering, and that is pretty much evident in the way it looks. The overall design language is a fusion of the appearance of the SUVs and sedans from Volvo, with almost all the design elements of the V60 Recharge inspired by the other Volvo cars on offer. While this might rob some of its individuality, the fact that it is a one-of-its-kind station wagon does give it a noteworthy road presence.

At the front, the Volvo V60 Recharge gets the typical Volvo grille, with it having tapered edges on the lower sides and chrome-finished slats, surrounds and Volvo logo. The horizontally-laid headlamps on the sides look heavily inspired by those of the Volvo S80 sedan, with the all-LED headlamps featuring Thor hammer-shaped daytime running LEDs within them. The front bumper also looks impactful with a trapezoidal-shaped air dam in the middle and trapezoidal faux air dams with chrome garnish over their inner edges.

The side profile of the Volvo V60 Recharge gives it its authentic identity, for it effectively wears its station wagon design with the right proportions and a great, well-balanced stance. Given that it is a “Recharge” offering from Volvo now, the machine alloy wheels here have a new aerodynamic design, complemented well by the low sedan-like ground clearance. The large window panels also come with chrome surrounds, enhancing the premium appeal of the vehicle even more.

At the back, the influence of the Volvo SUVs in the look of the Volvo V60 Recharge is evident with the vertically-aligned L-shaped LED tail lamps, which flow from the upper edges of the rear windscreen to the middle of the boot lid. The rear bumper also has a premium-looking chrome strip stretching over it, while surrounding the exhaust outlets on either corner.

The Volvo V60 Recharge is being offered with four drive modes – hybrid, pure, power1 and constant AWD while being offered with all-wheel drive as standard. The overall suspension combination of the Volvo V60 Recharge has been tuned on a softer side to make the station wagon feel as comfortable and plush on both high and low speeds as the other luxury sedans from Volvo.

Powering the Volvo V60 Recharge is a petrol-electric plug-in hybrid powertrain, which has gradually become the choice of powertrain in many other Volvo cars and SUVs. This powertrain is a combination of a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, an electric motor and a battery pack, which claims a maximum power output of 465 PS and a peak torque output of 710 Nm. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, this powertrain claims 71.4 kmpl of fuel efficiency and 90 km of pure electric range.

In its standard variant, the Volvo V60 Recharge has been equipped with features like a blind spot information system, six airbags front and rear parking sensors and safety assistance technology, which includes lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, lane keep assist, oncoming lane mitigation, front and rear collision mitigation, traffic sign recognition, surround view camera, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, park assist, pilot assist, adaptive cruise control and more.

With its station wagon design, the Volvo V60 Recharge is a fine balance between a traditional sedan and an SUV, by offering loads of practicality, top-class features, extremely high efficiency and impressive comfort levels.
