Introduction

Infiniti Q70 Hybrid is the third generation of Infiniti M Hybrid – a mid-luxury hybrid sedan produced by the Infiniti luxury division of Nissan. The Japanese automaker unveiled a facelift of Infiniti M Hybrid in a long wheelbase version under a new nameplate - “Infiniti Q70 Hybrid” at the 2014 New York Auto Show and since then the car has placed itself in some of the most prestigious hybrid cars. With the aim of expanding the hybrid lineup of the company, Infiniti has introduced this luxury sedan with a unique styling and state-of-the-art interior contours.

Engine, mileage and variants

The Q70 Hybrid is powered by a 3.5-litre, 24-valve V6 CVTCS engine paired to a 1.4 kwh/346V Lithium-ion 2-clutch parallel electric motor. The 3.5-liter V6 engine produces the maximum power of 300 hp at 6,800 rpm and the maximum torque of 350 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The 1.4 kwh/346V Lithium-ion 2-clutch parallel electric motor is capable of producing the maximum power of 67 hp and the maximum torque of 270 Nm between 1,770 to 2,000 rpm. The combined system output stands at 360 hp. The Infiniti Q70 Hybrid can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 5.5 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 250 kmph. Moving to the mileage, the combined fuel consumption of Q70 hybrid measures 14.5 kmpl.

Exteriors

The new Infiniti Q70 Hybrid is 4980 mm long, 1845 wide and 1500 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2900 mm and the total kerb weight of Kerb measures 1,847 kg. Visually speaking, the front fascia of the Q70 Hybrid features LED headlights with integrated Daytime Running lights, Infiniti's signature chrome double-arch mesh design grille, and the sporty front bumper with fog lamps. At the rear, there are new tail lamps with a double-curve LED signature. The rear bumper has been redesigned and it features the large dual exhaust with polished tips. Other important exterior features of Q70 Hybrid include rain-sensing variable intermittent front windshield wipers, power folding heated outside mirrors with reverse tilted down feature and integrated LED turn signals, power sliding tinted glass moon roof with one-touch open/close, tilt feature and sliding sunshade. The courtesy lamps built into the outside door handles, which further lend this sedan a sense of luxury. The premium luxury hybrid sedan sits on 18-inch alloys with 245/50 tyres.

Interior

Inside, the Infiniti Hybrid Q70 features unique quilted semi-aniline leather-appointed 10-way climate controlled power front seats with adjustable lumbar support. The premium soft-touch materials for door armrests, center console, knee pads, and the dual occupant memory system with Entry/Exit assist for driver's seat and steering wheel further enhances the comfort level of the occupants. On the dashboard, there is white ash wood trim with silver powder finish, leather-covered power adjustable tilt and telescopic multi-functional steering wheel, Infiniti analogue clock, and 8-inch high-resolution touch screen information display. The BOSE® 10-speaker premium audio system with USB/iPod connectivity, 9.3GB music box hard drive, Bluetooth streaming audio, and Bluetooth hands-free phone system further creates a theatre like an experience to enjoy the ride in an effective manner. The boot capacity of Q70 Hybrid is measured at 450 liters.

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous

The safety features of Infiniti Q70 Hybrid include 6 Airbags, Traction Control System (TCS), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Front Pre-Crash seat belts, Front-seat Active Head Restraints and the ISOFIX Child Seat attachment to name a few. The braking and handling of the premium luxury sedan are handled by the regenerative braking system along with the front independent double wishbone and rear independent multi-link suspension with double piston shock absorbers (DPS). Also, there is a drive mode selector, which comes with four driving modes: Standard Mode, Snow Mode, Sports Mode and Eco Mode. In Malaysia, the Infiniti Q70 Hybrid is available in five colour options: Liquid Platinum, Hermosa Blue, Graphite Shadow, Mable Black and Moonlight White with the premium pearl finish. An additional RM25k Sports package adds on the sports bumper and 20-inch wheels. The premium luxury hybrid sedan also comes with a standard three-year or 100,000 km factory warranty.
