Yamaha Ego Solariz: Features explained
Yamaha has been in Malaysia for many years now, which has given it a good understanding of the local market; what’s in demand, what’s the need, etc. We all are aware of the growing population of automatic scooters in the country. There are many reasons why they are selling in such high numbers. We aren’t going to discuss the reasons but we will be discussing some of the key features of one of the most affordable and best automatic scooters that you can buy today - the Yamaha Ego Solariz.
Sporty and attractive looks
Yamaha Ego Solraiz price of RM 5,234 makes it one of the many affordable scooters available in the market right now. Being affordable doesn’t mean it should lack in terms of styling and sporty looks. Thankfully, Yamaha has done just that. The front of the Ego Solariz features a distinctive headlamp design which also incorporates the side turn signals. It’s a single-piece assembly which looks brilliantly finished. Mind you, the headlight is fixed and doesn’t move around as you turn the handle of the scooter. Moving on, to complement the headlight’s design, there is a sporty and sharp fairing at the front which continues to the side as well.
Coming to the side, it is the attractive graphics and decals that add to the scooter’s overall stylish appearance. We also have the blacked-out sporty exhaust and the black alloy wheels to keep things refreshed. The rear end gets a large tail light with a sharp design which looks even better when you take into consideration the M-shaped grab rail.
Stylish instrument cluster
Things are pretty basic when it comes to the instrument cluster of the Ego Solairz but the entire layout and design is stylish. A large speedometer takes up most of the space and below it is a fuel gauge. You can see the attention to detail that Yamaha has put in by looking at the fonts of these meters. We also have a few usual tell-tale lights but the one which we’re most interested in is the Eco-Indicator. As the name suggests, it will light up when you’d be riding in a sane manner. This will give you an idea about your riding style and help enhance fuel efficiency.
125 cc engine
Powering the Ego Solariz is a 125 cc, single-cylinder engine which produces 9.3 bhp of max power at 8000 rpm and a peak torque of 9.6 Nm is generated at 5500 rpm. It is mated to a V-Belt Automatic transmission. Yamaha used this engine because it is more than sufficient to power the lightweight Ego Solariz. Also, the engine is pretty refined and smooth. To make sure that the performance and fuel efficiency of the scooter is up to the standards, Yamaha incorporated its Blue Core Technology which provides more power at the expense of less amount of fuel.
Lightweight
Doesn’t the Ego Solariz look like a lightweight scooter? It actually is. It weighs just 98 kg (wet) which has many benefits. It is easier to handle especially in the city where the streets are usually jam-packed. Manoeuvring it through the traffic is like walking in the park. Even female riders would love to ride this scooter. The lightweight also enhances fuel efficiency.
Under-seat storage
To store your personal belongings nicely and safe, there is a 10-litre storage compartment under the seat of the Ego Solariz. Considering the overall dimensions of the scooter, this is a decent size space.
These were some of the key features you'll find in Yamaha Ego Solariz specs sheet. There aren’t many because Yamaha wanted to keep things simple and the cost in check. If you want to have more features you can look at scooters with higher price tags. As far as the Ego Solariz is concerned, it provides all the basic features that an affordable scooter should have, and it looks attractive too; it is available in four different colours - Blue, Red, Purple and Magenta.
