Triumph Tiger 1200 gets an update in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: The British motorcycle brand, Triumph, has introduced the upgraded lineup of the Tiger 1200 in the Malaysian market. For 2024, the large-capacity motorcycle benefits from enhanced performance, comfort, and aesthetics.

Designed for on-road performance, the GT Pro and GT Explorer feature 19-inch front and 18-inch rear cast aluminium wheels wrapped with Metzeler Tourance tyres. However, the Explorer boasts a larger 30-litre fuel tank than the Pro 20-litre tank.
The Rally Pro and Rally Explorer, on the contrary, are built for off-road adventures, equipped with spoked tubeless wheels (21-inch front and 18-inch rear) mated to Metzeler Karoo Street rubbers. The Rally Explorer carries a 30-litre tank, while the Rally Pro has a 20-litre capacity.
All the variants of the 2024 Triumph Tiger 1200 come with a more refined 1,160-cc T-plane triple liquid-cooled, 12-valve, DOHC, inline 3-cylinder. It produces a maximum power of 150 PS at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 130 Nm at 7,000 rpm. Power is sent to the wheels via a 6-speed gearbox.
The engine now offers smoother low-speed control and better performance. The clutch has been reworked to make gear shifts easier, and the bike has increased ground clearance for better cornering.
Built on a lightweight chassis, the Tiger 1200 lineup comes with an advanced Showa suspension, providing a smooth ride with 200 mm of travel both in the front and rear. It automatically adjusts based on the rider's load, and the new Active Preload Reduction lowers the seat height by up to 20 mm for improved comfort during stops.
As for braking, it incorporates high-performance Brembo brakes with twin front discs for strong stopping power, along with ABS for extra safety. The rear brake also uses a Brembo setup for reliable control.
Offering the rider all essential riding-related information is a 7-inch TFT instrument display that supports the My Triumph Connectivity System.
