Triumph teases the lighter and more agile 2022 Tiger 1200

KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new 2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 is in the works and the automaker is releasing the details of the upcoming version in bits and pieces. Earlier this month, we saw a few testing prototype photos of the new Tiger 1200, and now here comes a short clipping that showcases the off-road potential of the adventure motorcycle.

Triumph has confirmed that the upcoming model will be equipped with the brand’s innovative T-plane crank engine, just like the revamped Tiger 900. The new engine has a greater character and feel, thanks to its unique firing order. It gives more low-end grunt, more feedback to the rider, a more distinctive sound, better tractability along with an improved throttle feel. Overall, it feels more like a V-Twin.

Further, the new Tiger 1200 is expected to have less weight, around 249 kg wet, and would make more than 150 bhp of maximum power. Also, the model in the photos appears to have 21/18-inch wheels in place of 19/17-inch. A new suspension unit on the front and rear is also likely to be part of the kit.

The automaker further confirmed that the bike has now reached its exciting final stages of testing.
