Triumph launches the all-new 2022 Tiger 1200

KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new 2022 Triumph Tiger has arrived, marking a big step forward for the British company in the adventure-touring segment.

Triumph has aimed the new Tiger 1200 to be lighter with being a powerful ADV with class-leading handling and specs on and off road. And guess what it has all those things!

What powers the new Tiger 1200 adventure-tourer?

Triumph’s latest offering is powered by the all-new T-Plane crank engine that was previously seen fueling the Tiger 900 range. This 1600 cc mill makes a maximum power of 147 hp at 9,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 130 Nm at 7,000 rpm. Compared to the previous-gen model, the figures are up by 8.5 hp and 8 Nm.

New Triumph Tiger 1200 variants

The Tiger 1200 is offered in GT and Rally editions. However, the new model gets a new Explorer version that comes with added electronics, has a higher specification kit, and a 30-litre fuel tank. It also boasts an innovative blind spot detection system like the ones found on the KTM 1290 Super Adventurer S and Ducati Multistrada V4.

The 1200 GT edition is offered in GT and GT Pro trims that feature a semi-active suspension and ride on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear cast-aluminium wheels.

The 1200 Rally and Rally Pro, on the other hand, come equipped with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear tubeless rims that offer amazing off-road handling and ability.

The entire range of the new Tiger 1200 is expected to arrive at the automaker’s dealerships globally sometime next year.
