These are Suzuki Malaysia’s three new models with full detail
KUALA LUMPUR: Suzuki Motors announced its return to the Malaysia market nearly a year ago and now finally the Japanese motorcycle is here. Its official distributor for the country is Suzuki Malaysia Sdn Bhd, which has introduced six models to kickstart the business. It is to be noted that Suzuki’s new keeper in the country is the same team that heads Kawasaki Motors Malaysia, meaning the brand is in good hands.
“This is an exciting new beginning for Suzuki. We are not just back, but we are here with an even bigger commitment, one that will not only offer customers the very latest and most advanced motorcycles Suzuki has to offer but to elevate their riding and ownership experience to an even higher level," said Dato' Jeffrey Lim, Suzuki Malaysia Sdn Bhd General Manager and Director.
Now coming back to Suzuki Malaysia’s lineup, it includes six models at the moment. They are -
- 2021 Suzuki GSX-R1000
- 2021 Suzuki GSX-R1000R
- 2021Suzuki Katana
- 2021 Suzuki GSX-S750
- 2021 Suzuki V-Strom 650XT
- 2021 Suzuki SV650
We have already discussed the first three models in detail, you can check them out here. Here our focus is on the remaining three Suzuki motorcycles - the GSX-S750, V-Strom 650XT, and SV650.
2021 Suzuki GSX-S750
Engine: This naked sports motorcycle is powered by a 749cc inline four-cylinder engine generating maximum power of 114 PS at 10,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 81 Nm at 9,000 rpm.
Breaking & handling: It is equipped with twin Nissin Monobloc radial-mount, four-piston callipers clamping 310 mm diameter brake discs on the breaking front. The suspension setup on the other hand includes upside-down front forks, adjustable for preload and monshock with 7-step preload adjustment at the rear.
Riding aids: This 213 kg motorcycle comes with ABS along with four-mount traction control.
Colour options: Metallic Oort Grey/Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Triton Blue/Glass Sparkle Black
Rivals: Honda CB650R, Yamaha MT-09
2021 Suzuki V-Strom 650XT
Engine: This one hails from the adventure-touring segment and draws its power from a 645 cc liquid-cooled V-twin mill that churns out a maximum power of 71 PS at 8,800 rpm and a peak torque of 62 Nm at 6,300 rpm.
Breaking & handling: Breaking on the V-Strom 650XT is taken care of by twin hydraulic discs on 19-inch front wheels, the rear 17-inch unit on the other hand gets a single disc
Riding aids & specs: ABS comes as standard in this 216 kg bike. It further has a fuel tank with a 20-litre capacity, and its seat height measures 835 mm.
Colour options: Champion Yellow and Candy Daring Red/Sparkle Black
Rivals: Kawasaki Versys 650
2021 Suzuki SV650
Engine: The middleweight naked sports motorcycle is powered by a 645 cc V-twin unit that generates a maximum power of 73 PS at 8,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 64 Nm at 6,800 rpm.
Braking & handling: Providing this bike braking power at the front is the twin Tokoico four-piston brake callipers and single-piston calliper at the rear. Ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride all along is its suspension setup that consists of conventional telescopic forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear.
Specs: This weighs 200 kg, has a 14.5-litre fuel tank, and places the rider 785 mm off the ground.
Colour options: Pearl brilliant White/Gloss Sparkle Black
Rivals: Yamaha MT-07, Kawasaki Z650
