Thailand Bike of The Year Award 2022 goes to …

KUALA LUMPUR: The Thailand Bike of The Year Award 2022 got concluded recently and this time around the winner of this prestigious honour was Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special.

Looks like the H-D motorcycle is really proving its worth as it was also the best bike at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2021.

Coming back to its latest achievement, Harley-Davidson’s first adventure tourer as expected won the award in the ADV category. The Grand Prix international announced the title after the Pan America 1250 Special emerged as the best Adventure Heavyweight motorcycle in Thailand.

Enough about its achievements, let’s get to know the Pan America 1250 Special’s key highlights, starting with the powerplant.

Engine: Powering the new Pan America is a Revolution Max 1250 dual spark VVT mill that makes a maximum power of 150 hp at 9,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 127 Nm at 6,750 rpm. According to H-D, this unit was built from the ground up only to improve the bike’s weight distribution.

Suspension: H-D has packed the motorcycle with a beefy 47 mm inverted fork with trick semi-active suspension. It automatically drops the Pan America to 855 mm at a stop before returning to 890 mm on the move. Obviously, part of the kit is Adaptive Ride Height adjustment.

Advanced features: Both the variants of the new Pan America - Standard and Special, benefit from a full-colour 6.8-inch TFT touchscreen display, cornering ABS, full LED light setup, cruise control, lean-sensitive traction control, and hill control assist.

Specifications: It offers a 21-litre fuel tank and weighs 258 kg and 245 kg for Special and Standard trim, respectively.

Harley-Davidson Malaysia lineup also includes the Pan America 1250 Special with a price starting from RM 115,900.
