Malaysia to get more Aprilia bikes soon
KUALA LUMPUR: Didi Group has several established motorcycle brands under its umbrella in Malaysia, including the Italian performance motorcycle marque Aprilia. The company has been distributing the Aprilia bikes since Aug 2018 with a commitment to take the brand forward with dedicated after-sales support, strong community and engagement in the competitive two-wheel environment in the market.

“This year Didi Group is firmly committed to taking the Aprilia brand forward. A strong product lineup will be introduced to the Malaysian market in the coming weeks. Didi will be introducing the “ice-breaker” into the brand experience by entering a new segment with the Aprilia SR-GT, 200cc scooter segment, mentioned Juan, General Manager Didi Group.
The Aprilia SR-GT was first introduced at the EICMA show, followed by the launch in Japan in two versions - the SR GT 125 and the SR GT 200. The bookings for the latter are now underway in Malaysia.
Design-wise, the “Urban Adventure” scooter boasts an aggressive and rugged appearance with tri-LED headlights with daytime running lights. Also, part of the kit is a fully digital LCD instrument panel, wide handlebars, knobby tyres, and ADV elements like forward-set footpegs and a smoked windscreen.
At the core of the Aprilia upcoming scooter lies a 174-cc single-cylinder engine generating a maximum power output of 17.43 hp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 16.6 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The suspension setup comprises Showa 33 mm telescopic front fork and Showa twin shock at the rear while handling the braking duties are 260 mm petal disc at the front and 220 mm units at the back.
