Honda Malaysia launches three new bikes

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Malaysia has greeted us with three new middleweight bikes - CRB500R sports bike, CRB500F naked bike, and CBR500X adventure tourer. The former one is priced at RM 34,999, while the latter two will set you back by RM 33,999 and RM 36,099, respectively.

All three bikes are powered by the same 471cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin eight-valves mill that churns out a maximum power of 49.6 hp at 8,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 45 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The power is sent down to the wheels via a 6-speed gearbox with chain final drive.

Standard across the 2019 Honda midweight range is Anti-lock Braking System along with LED lighting all around, revised rear monoshock, LCD instrument cluster, and assist and slipper clutch. The shift light for the three motorbikes is now set at 8,750 rpm and adjustable in 2500 rpm (increments from 5,000 to 8,750 rpm).

2019 Honda CBR500R features -

• 4% more mid-range power and torque (due to revised valve timing, inlet, and exhaust)
• Narrower tail unit and seat pad for improved movement and ergonomics
• Clip-on handlebars for a sportier riding position
• Color options include - Pearl Metalloid White, Grand Prix Red, and Max Axis Gray Metallic

2019 Honda CBR500F naked sports bike offers -

• Designed as a ‘do everything’ machine
• Assist and slipper clutch makes it easy to ride
• Improved engine airflow
• Color options include - Pearl Metalloid White, Grand Prix Red, and Gun Powder Black Metallic

2019 Honda CBR500X specs include -

• 19-inch front wheels (a jump from earlier 17-inch units)
• Improved handling
• Narrower rider seat
• 3-degree increase in steering lock
• Color options include - Pearl Metalloid White, Grand Prix Red, and Gun Powder Black Metallic

All the three bikes will be available at authorised Boon Siew Honda Malaysia dealership by the end of June this year. They will come with 2-year or 20,000 km warranty, whichever occurs first.
