Honda Africa Twin receives new colour in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Malaysia has brought another amazing thing for the riders. Pertaining to the Africa Twin pure adventure motorcycle, the company has introduced a new color, bringing a much-need refreshment to the lineup.

The newest colour addition to the list is the Matt Ballistic Black Metallic, which joins the other colors currently offered. What makes this new color special is that it further enhances the overall look and makes it more inclined towards being a perfectly painted adventure two-wheeler.

Apart from this, Honda hasn’t made any significant changes in the Africa Twin, leaving it to the quality motorcycle it already is. The sturdiness is intact and it still manages to exude confidence, even on the off-beaten roads.

The Honda Africa Twin has upside down forks up front, sourced from Showa, which even has the preload adjuster. At the rear, there is an aluminium cast swingarm. It rides on 21-inch front wheels and 18-inch rear, the perfect setup for an adventure off-roader. Also, the 150-section rear tyre offers great stability and grip. As for the braking, the front has two disc brakes while the rear has a single unit. A dual-channel ABS is also offered.

At the heart, there is a 998 cc, liquid cooled engine that can churn out 95 PS of power at 7,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 99 Nm, which comes at 6,000 rpm. Power is sent down to the wheels via a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Being an adventure bike, it has a huge 18.8-litre of fuel tank capacity. However, the saddle height is a little on the higher side at a minimum of 850 mm, while the overall kerb weight is a whopping 239 kilograms.
