KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Enfield Himalayan adventure-tourer has been updated for the 2021 model year. The brand has introduced a range of new updates to the motorcycle, however, its engine configuration and overall silhouette remain untouched.

Powering the new Himalayan adventure-tourer is a 411 cc single-cylinder, SOHC power plant which is fed by EFI. The said mill makes a maximum power of 24.5 hp at 6,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 32 Nm from 4,250 to 4,500 rpm. The power is sent to the wheels via a 5-speed gearbox.

The new and improved Himalayan adventure-tourer benefits from a clear, round, and small LCD instrument panel. Placed next to the fuel gauge is a Royal Enfield Tripper Navigation display pod. In order to use it, the rider needs to connect his/her smartphone with the system that can be done via a dedicated RE app offering real-time navigation from Google Maps.

In addition to the Tripper Navigation system, the motorcycle’s seat is tweaked to provide a more comfortable ride. The front rack’s shape has also been changed, it is now shorter than before and will now bother the tall riders. The rear luggage carrier is now lighter and features an additional plate. The exhaust gets a black heat shield and circular black headlight casing.

Making the 2021 Himalayan adventure-tourer safer and better is the two-channel ABS. The suspension is taken care of by a front telescopic 41mm diameter forks and a rear monoshock that gives 180 mm of travel. Helping the bike stop are disc brakes present on both ends.

The 2021 Himalayan adventure-tourer runs on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. It weighs 194 kg and features a 15-litre fuel tank that ensures fewer re-fuelling stops by the rider.

2021 Himalayan adventure-tourer colours

The new model is offered in six exterior colour options - Lake Blue, Granite Black, Rock Red, Snow White, Gravel Grey, and Sleet Grey.
