BMW launches F750 GS adventure-tourer and R1250 RT tourer in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Motorrad Malaysia has launched two motorcycles in the country, namely F750 GS adventure-tourer and R1250 RT tourer along with the two C 400 scooters. The former is based on the current F850 GS and the latter model is the first to get the 1,254 cc boxer-twin mill in the country.

The BMW F750 GS is equipped with an 853 cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine, which is capable of producing a maximum power of 77 hp at 7,500 rpm and the peak torque is 83 Nm coming at 6,000 rpm. The engine is coupled to a six-speed transmission which is assisted by the chain final drive.

The bike comes with 19-inch aluminium alloy wheel at the front, while the rear is furnished with a 17-inch wheel. It comes with quite a comfortable seat height of 815 mm. Moving to its suspension, there are 41 mm diameter telescopic forks at the front along with 151 mm of travel, while the rear end receives a monoshock unit with 177 mm of travel.

To slow things down, 2019 BMW Motorrad F750 GS has an all-disc brake combination that includes twin front brake discs of 305 mm with two-piston Brembo callipers and a single rear disc of 265 mm. Other notable features include 6.5-inch TFT-LCD color display, a 15-litre fuel tank, two-wheel ABS and Automatic Stability Control (ASC). An optional Dynamic ESA suspension or smartphone connectivity is also available to the onboard system for infotainment and navigation.

 R1250 RT tourer

On the other hand, 2019 BMW Motorrad R1250 RT, gets an updated 1,254 cc boxer-twin, as mentioned earlier. It is an updated version of the previous gen R1200 RT. The new mill is capable of churning out a maximum power of 136 hp along with a maximum torque of 143 Nm. The transmission duties are done by a six-speed manual gearbox assisted by shaft final drive.

The motorcycle rides on the 17-inch wheels, and the stopping duties are done by 320 mm twin brake discs with Brembo callipers. It also comes with Dynamic ESA electronic suspension of the latest generation. The BMW Motorrad navigation and optional smartphone connectivity are also part of its premium spec sheet.

Moreover, R1250 RT tourer equips a host of convenience features including audio system, cruise control, electrically-actuated windshield, luggage, and automatic headlights. Speaking of the safety equipment, the bike has Dynamic Brake Control, Integral ABS and Hill Start Assist as standard.

2019 BMW Motorrad F750 GS adventure-tourer and R1250 RT tourer are priced at RM 71,500 and RM 139,500, respectively.
