Aprilia Malaysia launches two new vehicles: 2022 SR GT & Tuareg 660

KUALA LUMPUR: Aprilia Malaysia is on a launching spree. A few days back, the company launched the 2022 RSV4 1100 Factory, and now it has introduced two new models in the local lineup. Thus ensuring its model range has something for everyone.

After 2022 RSV4 1100 Factory superbike, Aprilia has introduced a new adventure-style scooter and a middleweight adventure motorcycle. We’ll be discussing each in detail here, starting with the new 2022 Aprilia SR GT scooter.

 

In March, Aprilia Malaysia confirmed the arrival of the SR GT 200, and it is here.

Price and variant: The Aprilia SR GT is available in two variant options, SR GT 200 and SR GT 200 Sport. They are priced at RM 19,900 and RM 20,900, respectively, including registration, road tax, and insurance.

Assembly and availability: The new 2022 Aprilia SR GT will be assembled at Piaggio’s Vietnam plant and is expected to arrive at the dealerships by July.

Colour options: The SR GT 200 is offered in three hues, Aprilia Black, Infinity Black, and Street Grey, all with black seats and wheels.
The SR GT 200 Sport, on the other hand, is available in altogether three different colours, Red Raceway, Street Gold, and Iridium Grey; all with red wheels, a two-tone black & grey seat, and Aprilia ‘a’ logo.

Power: The SR GT 200 and SR GT 200 Sport are powered by a 174 cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with SOHC and four valves. Fed by EFI, the unit generates a maximum power of 17 hp and a peak torque of 16.5 Nm.

Transmission: The power is sent to the rear wheels via a twist-and-go CVT belt-drive automatic driveline.

Braking & handling: The SR GT comes equipped with single hydraulic discs at both ends, with 260 mm front and 220 mm rear rotors. Front wheels get ABS as standard.

The suspension is taken care of by Showa conventional telescopic forks with 120 mm of wheel travel and twin shock absorbers with adjustable preload at the rear.

Features: The new Aprilia scooter gets a sizable under-seat storage unit, a nifty digital dash display, and an all-LED lighting setup.

The 2022 Aprilia SR GT is now open for bookings, and as mentioned, the deliveries will commence in July.

2022 Aprilia Tuareg 660 -

Price: The all-new Aprilia Tuareg 660 middleweight motorcycle is offered at an introductory price of RM 79,500 (excluding registration, road tax, and insurance).

Availability: Unlike the Aprilia ST GT, the Tuareg 660 stock is available with the dealers immediately

Colour options: The 2022 Aprilia Tuareg 660 is offered in three colours options in the local market, including Acid Gold, Martian Red, and Indaco Tagelmust

Power: The all-new Tuareg 660 is powered by a 659 cc, liquid-cooled, eight-valve, DOHC, parallel-twin engine making a maximum power of 80 hp along with a peak torque of 70 Nm at 6,500 rpm.

Braking & suspension: The Tuareg 660 is equipped with fully-adjustable upside-down Kayaba forks at the front with 240 mm travel and a fully-adjustable Kayaba mono-shock with 240 mm travel.

As for braking, it gets twin Brembo two-piston callipers with 330 mm floating discs at the front wheel and single-piston callipers with 260 mm disc on the rear wheel. It gets two-channel ABS as standard.
