2025 KTM 390 Adventure R revealed at EICMA motorcycle show

KUALA LUMPUR: The Austrian bikemaker KTM introduced the all-new 2025 390 Adventure R at the recently concluded 2024 EICMA (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori) show in Milan, Italy. The latest model sits at the top of the brand’s 390 Adventure range. 

The key highlights of the new 390 Adventure R are as follows - 

Design

While retaining a rugged and sporty look, the new  KTM 390 Adventure R boasts a rally-inspired bodywork and the brand’s iconic orange and white paint scheme. On the front, we can see the new vertically-stacked projector LED headlight, which seems quite valuable for night rides and low-light conditions. 

The bike also benefits from a slightly taller windscreen, improving wind deflection for better comfort on long rides. The automaker has also added practical knuckle guards to protect the rider's hands from debris during off-road adventures.

Also part of the update is a raised front fender and a sleek and minimalistic tail section, giving the vehicle a streamlined appearance. A long, single-piece seat offers comfortable seating over extended trips.

Engine 

Powering the new  KTM 390 Adventure R is an updated 399-cc LC4 liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. While the automaker is yet to release the exact power numbers, the engine is expected to make around 45.3 bhp of maximum power and 39 Nm of peak torque.

Suspension & braking 

The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R is built on a robust steel trellis frame, designed to handle challenging terrains while maintaining stability and agility. The suspension setup carries fully-adjustable WP Apex forks at the front and a preload -adjustable WP Apex monoshock at the rear. The rear suspension also gets a new and redesigned gravity-cast swingarm.

The bike runs on a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheel, with disc brakes helping it stop at both ends.

Price and availability

KTM has not yet announced the pricing and availability details of the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R.

Alongside the 390 Adventure R, KTM also introduced the 390 Enduro R and 390 SMC adventure bikes at the world’s biggest two-wheel exhibition.
