KUALA LUMPUR: The much-anticipated all-new Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX has finally landed on Malaysian shores. With 'S' for 'sports' and 'X' for 'crossover,' the latest model combines the excitement of a sports vehicle with the practicality of a crossover.

Price

The all-new Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX is priced at RM 17,800 (on the road, without insurance) in Malaysia. 

Powertrain 

The Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX is powered by a 249-cc 4-stroke 1-cylinder 4-valve oil-cooled SOHC engine that churns out a maximum power of 26.5 PS at 9,300 rpm and a peak torque of 22.2 Nm at 7,300 rpm. Sending power to the wheels is a 6-speed gearbox.

The automaker claims that the mill offers excellent torque at low rpm and a smooth run-up, which makes it convenient for beginners as well as seasoned riders to ride. The Suzuki Oil Cooling System “warms the engine up quickly and keeps it at the optimum temperature exceptionally well for ideal temperature management.”

Design

Based on the “Toughness In a Slender Shell” design concept, the Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX boasts rugged and adventure-inspired looks. The bike has a slim profile thanks to the compact engine, covered in a protective shell. The side panels under the seat are compact, allowing easy ground reach and a good riding feel. 

The lightweight versatile crossover comes with balanced proportions and an 835 mm seat height offering riders a comfortable riding position.

Suspension and braking

The suspension setup of the 2024 Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX comprises a telescopic front suspension and a preload adjustable swingarm rear suspension. Handling the braking duties is a 310 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc brake. These are complemented by a dual-channel ABS.
