Volvo Malaysia introduces the new V60, price starts at RM 286,907

KUALA LUMPUR: Volvo Cars Malaysia ended 2021 on a high note marking a 14.3% jump in sales from the previous year and now it is geared up for 2022. The company has just introduced the all-new second-gen V60 wagon in the country in the most luxurious Inscription trim. 

The wagon sibling of the S60 sedan is locally assembled in Shah Alam and is priced at RM 286,907 (on-the-road without insurance and sales and service tax). Included in the price is a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty and an eight-year/160,000 km battery warranty.

The Malaysia-spec V60 is equipped with a 2.0-litre Drive-E turbocharged and supercharged four-popper mill kicking out a maximum power output of 320 hp and a peak torque of 400 Nm. When combined with a rear electric motor, the total system output is rated at 407 hp and 640 Nm. 

The setup is paired with an Aisin eight-speed automatic transmission, a crankshaft-integrated starter/generator, and a 10.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. On the performance front, the car is able to run from zero to 100 kmph in just 4.6 seconds before attaining a top speed of 180 kmph.

In terms of features, the all-new V60 gets LED headlights, silver roof rails, five-double-spoke 19-inch two-tone wheel, keyless entry, twist-knob start, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof,  a 9.7-inch portrait touchscreen for Sensus infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, power-adjustable front seats with memory, a 360-degree camera system, 600-watt Harman Kardon sound system and more.

Volvo offers the luxury model in Driftwood and Linear Lime interior decor options along with Maroon Brown or Charcoal leather upholstery. The wagon has 529 litres of boot space, which is expandable to 1,400 litres.

Included in the advanced safety systems are adaptive cruise control, lane centring assist, autonomous emergency braking with the pedestrian, cyclist, and large animal detection, evasive steering assist, rear collision mitigation, lane keeping assist, run-off road mitigation, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, oncoming lane mitigation, and so on.

We hope the new Volvo V60 will help the Swedish automaker get another year of strong sales.
