Volkswagen Golf R Wolfsburg Edition to be Launched
KUALA LUMPUR: A Wolfsburg Edition of the Golf R is ready to be launched in Australia by Volkswagen. This series is limited in number which will be accessible in its both states: hatchback and estate. The company will launch its Estate form in a 200-unit exclusively. Last year, the car had debuted as the Golf R Variant in Los Angeles.
A complete equipment package is provided in both the editions, in comparison to the standard Golf R hatch. This package consists of Carbon Nappa leather upholstery, heated front seats, black door mirror covers, 19-inch black Pretoria wheels, and adaptive cruise control.
The car is available in three colors and has an iconic 'wolf and castle' Wolfsburg crest emblem while the panoramic sunroof is an optional accessory. It is mated with a six-speed DSG transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive system. A 2.0 EA888 turbocharged four-cylinder engine, produces 276 hp at 380 Nm. Other equipment includes adaptive shock absorbers, quad exhausts, and oversized brakes.
In comparison to its predecessor, the new Golf R Wagon offers an additional 262L of storage area, that amounts to a total volume of 605L. It weighs 74 kg more than the previous model, providing an acceleration from the standstill to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds.
