UMW Toyota sold 108,107 units in 2023 with a 7% Y-o-Y growth
KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota has announced its sales numbers for December along with the total sales for the year. As expected, the non-national automaker continues to shine in 2023, just like in previous years. The automaker sold a total of 10,402 units (10,079 units for Toyota and 323 units for Lexus) during the last month, resulting in a year-to-date sales tally of 108,107 units.

UMW Toyota offered attractive benefits to customers in the month of December via the "Drive into the New Year with Toyota" promo. Customers benefited from up to 100% loans on selected models, along with perks like up to RM 15,000 on the Camry, monthly Yaris instalments as low as RM 658, and Toyota Service Savers starting at just RM 18 per month.
On the sustainability front, the automaker continued to support the nation's goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The company aligns its strategies with the environmental targets of the country and emphasises its commitment to creating positive changes in the automotive sector.
"We've always prioritised maintaining the highest standards and quality in our vehicles, coupled with reinforcing customer satisfaction. As we look forward to 2024, our focus will be on introducing more models, particularly with an emphasis on XEV technologies," added Datuk Ravindran K.
UMW Toyota also began an initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Toyota Eco Youth (TEY) 2023-2024 programme, in December. This annual initiative involves teams of four secondary students aged 13-16 and a teacher advisor, undertaking projects that address specific environmental concerns within their communities. In the latest edition of the program, a total of 15 schools participated, utilising the Toyota 8 Steps Problem-Solving Methodology and a RM 3,000 grant for their initiatives.
Datuk Ravindran K. said, "Here, we hope to inspire problem-solving efforts and contribute to a better future within the community, especially among our youth, embodying the spirit of Malaysia Madani. Through TEY, we want to empower the youth to be not just spectators but active contributors to a sustainable and innovative Malaysia."
