UMW Toyota Q1 2022 sales, new 3S centre, Ramadan celebrations, upcoming models and more

As the first quarter of 2022 has ended, automakers are releasing their sales numbers. We have already covered the sales figures comparison of national automakers Perodua and Proton last week and now, we are here with Toyota’s numbers. Along with that, we will tell you about Malaysia’s top non-national car brand’s Ramadan celebration offers, upcoming models, and more. So, without any further ado, let’s get started with sales.

UMW Toyota Q1 2022 sales

The Japanese automaker witnessed positive growth in the I quarter by scoring the following numbers -

• Q1 2022 - 22,447 units (Toyota & Lexus)
• March 2022 - 8,487 units (8,386 Toyota and 101 Lexus), with a 31.9% jump from the previous month’s 6,432 units

As per the company, the credit for the sales momentum goes to the Toyota March 2022 promo, which offered exciting rewards to the enthusiasts, including value-added advantages on the Vios and Yaris, worth RM 4,000.

UMW Toyota new 3S centre

With an aim to better serve the customers of the CYBERJAYA, the company launched a new 3S centre in the area. Operated by Otomobil Sejahtera Sdn Bhd, the new facility offers sales, services, spare parts, and body and paint services.

On the commencement of the new centre, Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor said, “We at UMW Toyota believe that it is our responsibility to provide the best experience for Toyota customers at each touchpoint. From the point of purchase to the after-sales service, and on to their next repurchase, it is important that they feel the Toyota touch at every step. This new 3S service centre is just our way of bringing our brand closer to our customers, wherever they may be while ensuring they have seamless access to our services whenever they need them.” 

UMW Toyota Ramadan celebration offers

Speaking about the new campaign, the brand celebrates the months of Ramadan and Syawal with the theme, ‘Bersama Lebih Bermakna’. It also rolled out the Pandu Uji dan Menang Duit Raya contest, which is now underway and will continue to May 1, 2022. By taking a test drive of any Toyota car at any authorised Toyota showroom, you will get a contest entry to win ‘duit raya’ worth RM 100. However, if you book the model after the test drive, there will be a chance to get RM 200 ‘duit raya’. The company will choose a total of 30 winners weekly. On top of these, you can also grab a chance to receive exclusive gifts when taking a test drive.

The ‘Bersama Lebih Bermakna’ celebrations at the joyous Ramadan Weekender will be organised on April 16-17, 2022 at all Toyota outlets nationwide. 

UMW Toyota upcoming cars

While announcing the past sales numbers and contests, Toyota also talked about the upcoming models scheduled to launch later this year. The company anticipates a further boost in sales with the new product launches. 

Unfortunately, we did not get the names of the upcoming cars, but we are sure about one of them. That’s the all-new 2022 Toyota Veloz that will fill the place vacated by the Avanza.

On the matter of ensuring regular supply, the UMW Toyota head stated “We are working closely with our suppliers and monitoring the developments closely to ensure minimal impact to our production and our customers.”
