Both the hybrid MPVs come powered by a series-parallel system featuring a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 190 PS and a peak torque of 233 Nm and an 182 PS/270 Nm electric motor. The total system output is rated at 250 PS. As for the transmission, there is an electronic CVT gearbox paired either with a front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive system.
The hybrid models promise a lower fuel consumption compared to the non-hybrid ones, claims the automaker. With a consumption rate of 5.5 litres per 100 km, it represents a substantial 38.8% decrease compared to the standard variants, highlighting the brand’s commitment to environmentally-conscious automotive solutions.
The Alphard Hybrid and Vellfire Hybrid duo are already on sale in Thailand. The former retails at a starting price of THB 4,499,000 (approx RM 600k) while the latter costs THB 4,279,000 million (RM 571k). In comparison, the non-hybrid versions offered in the local market are priced at RM 538k and RM 438,000, respectively.
In terms of design and features, the Alphard Hybrid and Vellfire Hybrid duo are identical to their ICE-powered counterparts. The equipment kit comprises - LED projector headlamps, LED tail lights, twin moonroofs, a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 64-colour ambient lighting, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a JBL sound system with 15 speakers, four-zone climate control, a panoramic view monitor and Toyota Safety Sense.
