KUALA LUMPUR: For those who aren’t aware, Alpina is part of BMW’s portfolio and is an automobile craftsman. It hand builds the engines, parts and interior, which once done are sent to the automaker's factory for final assembly. For instance, earlier this year the automaker unveiled the 2022 BMW Alpina B8 Gran Coupe and now we see the 2023 BMW Alpina XB7 making a stunning appearance. Overall, Alpina makes the ordinary BMW cars extra-extra cool.

Without a doubt, BMW’s personal tuner has done a good job with X7, aside from the weird split headlights. But how to say it as design is more of a personal thing.

Let’s get to know the all-new 2023 BMW Alpina XB7 in detail -

Alpina XB7: Powertrain configuration

Built on the BMW X7, the Alpina XB7 acquires the automaker’s new 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with 48-volt mild-hybrid tech. Together the setup generates a maximum power of 630 hp along with a peak torque of 800 Nm. That’s quite a good hike compared to the standard model (621 hp), all thanks to the extensive modifications by Alpina’s engineers.

All-wheel drive comes standard, as is an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Alpina XB7: Performance

The car’s powerful under the hood setup allows the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 96 kmph in just 3.9 seconds. Its top speed is rated at 290 kmph.

The car comes standard with several go-fast technologies like rear-axle steering, an active limited-slip differential, and model-specific chassis tuning. Also part of the kit is its very own engine management system and a heavy-duty cooling system (including the main engine cooler with integrated engine oil, transmission fluid coolants, and coolant). The list further includes an Alpina-specific intercooling system and cross-sectioned coiled hoses.

Alpina XB7: Stylish improvements

Apart from being a performance enhancement over the BMW X7, the Alpina XB7 gets some stylish touches as well. Part of the list is - massive 23-inch wheels with Alpina’s 20-spoke design or 21-inch wheels, illuminated grille with a waterfall lighting look.

Alpina XB7: Cabin inclusions

One can easily differentiate between the X7 and Alpina XB7 by looking at the cabin. The latter showcases blue accents on the instrument cluster and centre console, a specific steering wheel, illuminated door sills, standard wood trim, optional carbon fibre trim, and much more.

Alpina XB7: Price

Up for grabs now in the US, the 2023 Alpina XB7 retails for $145,995 (approx RM665,353). Deliveries of the car are expected to commence by early next year.
