KUALA LUMPUR: Nissan unveiled the all-new 2023 Almera in the United States where it is called the Versa. The facelifted model showcases several significant revisions including a new grille, fresh exterior colour, and new trim package. The sedan is expected to go on sale in the US in the upcoming months, probably followed by other international markets.

The all-new Almera is available in three variant options - S, SV, and SR. While the base S trim doesn’t benefit from direct revision, it does get a few standard features along with a new S Plus package which includes -
- 16-inch alloys
- 60/40 split-folding rear seat
- Apple CarPlay & Android Auto support
The standard kit includes - 3 USB ports, a 7-inch touchscreen display, and remote keyless entry.
The mid-spec Nissan Almera SV trim, on the other hand, benefits from a wireless phone charging pad, centre console with an armrest, and a new Chambray cabin hue.
Over and above the mentioned features, the range-topping SV trim comes fitted with new 17-inch wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen, automatic climate control, Intelligent Cruise Control, and connectivity services. As for the colour tones, the SV and SR models will be offered with a new Grey Sky Pearl tone.
All three 2023 Almera variants are powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine making a maximum power of 122 hp along with a peak torque of 154 Nm. The drive is sent to the wheels via either a 5-speed manual transmission (standard in S trim) or Nissan’s Xtronic continuously variable transmission (standard on S & SR, optional in S).
The sedan’s standard safety kit packs several capable gears including - automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, high beam assist, and lane departure warning. Also part of the kit is a blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert.
Nissan is yet to release the new Almera’s price tag, however, seeing all the revisions, we expect a slight hike on the pricing front.
