Renault Clio GT Line Finally Arrives in Malaysia: Priced at RM118K

Kuala Lumpur: The Renault Clio GT Line finally arrives in Malaysia! The less powerful version of the Renault Clio RS 200 EDC has been priced at RM118,000 including on-the-road (OTR) costs sans insurance. According to Renault, the Clio GT Line mainly targets those drivers who want a sporty look but not looking for higher performance like the RS variant. Does the younger brother resemble its Big B? The front fascia of Renault Clio GT Line features a fairly larger Renault emblem that is embedded within a gloss black assembly that houses the halogen headlights and LED daytime running lamps.

On the side, there are body-coloured side-protective mouldings with dark metal inserts in addition to dark rear-view mirror case, tinted rear windows and integrated rear door handles.

At the rear, the spoiler is same from the Renault Clio RS 200 EDC and a diffuser-like element which houses a single exhaust outlet. The Renault Clio GT Line moves on 17-inch alloy wheels housing 205/45 Michelin Primacy 3 tyres. Now coming to colour options, the car is available in Diamond Black, Glacier White and Malta Blue. The Flame Red colour option is also available for an extra cost of RM5K.

Inside, there are “dark carbon” fabric-trimmed seats, grey-dominated dashboard, seven-inch MediaNav touchscreen navigation/infotainment system, the Renault Bass Reflex sound system, Renault Sport-badged sill guards and the ‘Eco’ button beside the parking brake.

In terms of technology, the Renault Clio GT Line is equipped with automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, keyless entry with push-start button, cruise control with speed limiter, rear parking sensors, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, “motorway mode indicators.” Coming to safety features, the Euro NCAP five-star-rated Renault Clio GT Line looks impressive with its front, lateral head and thorax airbags, seat belts with pre-tensioners, Isofix mounts on the front passenger and two rear seats, ESC, hill-start assist and ABS with brake assist.

The powertrain consists a turbocharged 1.2L TCe 120 four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 118 hp of power at 4,900 rpm and 190 Nm of torque from 2,000 rpm. The power is transferred to the front wheels via a six-speed EDC dual-clutch transmission.

The Renault Clio GT Line makes century sprint in just 9.9 seconds while its top speed is rated at 199 km/h. The fuel economy of the car is rated at 5.2 l/100 km with CO2 emissions recorded at 120 g/km. As already mentioned, the CBU-from-Turkey Renault Clio GT Line has been priced at RM118K including OTR costs sans insurance. The automaker is offering a five-year/unlimited mileage warranty on every purchase while service timings are set at 10,000 km or 6 months, whichever comes first.
