Proton Iriz Active MkII concept seen at Alami Proton

Kuala Lumpur: As shown to the public in Alami Proton 2014 event, Proton Iriz Active concept is again set to reveal its upgraded face this year, with added MkII to its name. Although, this pseudo-crossover show car doesn't display much interesting figure to the public at the Alami Proton open day event last weekend with only few updates integrated into the design.

It looks pretty much the same car as before, with overall rugged look combining 30 mm taller ride height, black plastic body cladding, silver roof rails and skid plates. Even, the vents behind the front wheels and two hooks provided at the rear end are two considerable features of this concept car.

Besides everything, the unique LG NEXLIDE electroluminescent light strip technology appointed to the concept car at the front and rear make it look different and catchy, which automatically tends to gain spectators attention over it!

Proton Iriz Active MkII concept predominants grey and orange, but now with an updated body decals. Proton’s 30th-anniversary logo is featured on the C-pillar prominently too. The most visible change is a new set of wheels, which is redefined from same 17-inch turbine design rollers as on last year's car.

Redesigned roof rail modules are an integral part of the MkII makeover too, but this new addition will only be visible in the official product videos, and not on the actual vehicle. Mounted to the original, it features a Y-shaped crossbar which runs parallel to the length of the rack.

Talking about its interior, it's hard to reveal much about the particular segment as the concept car is locked behind a glass wall which makes it difficult to sneak in under cover of darkness. Though, we may assume looking at its not-much-changed exteriors, hardly any revisions would be appointed to its interiors!

Giving you brief information about the cabin (based on last year concept's interior design and data received), orange and black leather upholstery is appointed for its interiors, a 13.3-inch portrait touchscreen for the infotainment system, a 12.3 inch HD digital instrument cluster, a live rear-view monitor, a wireless smartphone charger and an integrated air purifier. Safety-wise, it added an LG active drive assistance system (ADAS) with autonomous emergency braking.

Repeated presentation of this concept at Alami Proton open day event, motivates us to make sly innuendoes about its real-time production figure which can be made in near future and has the ability to become a part of an active line of vehicles.
