KUALA LUMPUR: Peugeot has revealed the all-new 2021 3008 SUV. The said car is already a leader in the compact SUV segment, and the automaker has sold over 80,000 units since its launch in 2016. It was also awarded the Car Of The Year 2017 tag, thus proving its outstanding commercial performance.

Let's now see what the new 3008 offers, starting with the design -

In terms of style, the 3008 has evolved to a great extent with its unique and distinctive aura. With its inspired design, the SUV sets the codes for the next phase of modernity, which works on the car's vibrancy and refinement. Here are a few highlighting features of its exterior -

• New frameless grille
• New bumper
• Redesigned headlamps with LED technology and hook-shaped
• DRL's with chrome tip

• Full LED headlamps with extended light signature & bend lighting function (GT/GT Pack trims)
• Newly upgraded tail lamps with full-LED tech displaying 3D claws
• New 19-inch 'San Francisco' diamond-studded aluminium wheel (GT Pack trim)

For a more enhanced look, the company is also offering a new 'Black Pack' that is only limited to the GT and GT Pack. It included the following dark design elements - Front grille / Lion' Dark chrome', Satin black 3008 / GT / Peugeot monograms, Glossy black tread plate, Glossy black front fender trims, Satin black roof bars, Glossy black roof trim, Glossy black spoiler trim, Glossy black rear bumper sill, Black rubber wipers, Black door bottoms, 19" 'Washington' Black Pack special black onyx and Black mist varnish wheels.

Interior

From the beginning, the Peugeot 3008 features a spectacular interior and the new model only adds to the package with the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit that comes with a range of features like-

• 12.3-inch digital headset with 'Normally Black' tech
• New HD 10-inch central touch screen allowing access to several comfort features (radio, air-con, 3D navigation, mobile apps)
• Driving mode selector (Normal, Sport, and Eco)
• Multi-point massage seat
• Dual-panel sunroof
• Hands-free tailgate
• Wireless smartphone recharge
• One USB in row 1 and two in row 2
• 515 Watt FOCAL high-end Hifi system with French-style high-fidelity sound

Besides the technical upgrades, the new SUV also features new Mistral Nappa Leather upholstery, new dark lime wood & window winder, and frameless rearview mirror. Note, availability of all these elements depends on the variant selected.

Safety tech

The all-new Peugeot 3008 packs all the latest driving aids one could think of. Included in the list are -

Engine

The power plants are primarily carried over from the ongoing model. So, there are two plug-in hybrid options (HYBRID4 300 e-EAT8 and HYBRID 225 e-EAT8). Joining them are two gasoline-powered mills (1.2-litre and 1.6-litre) and a diesel unit (1.5-litre).

Price

The company is yet to announce the new 3008 price tag, however, seeing the improvements all-over, we expect a steep hike over the current model.
